Bike Park at The Farm

Bike Park at The Farm The dirtbike park is in the middle of working farm and is self-service. We are OPEN seven days a week, 8:30am-6pm, unless otherwise posted.

Info is posted at the Hangar for rules & tracks. See pinned posts for more details. We do not have bikes for hire. Bike Park @ The Farm is at "The Farm" (see website or page), about 45 mins North/East of Whangarei. It is a 1000 acre farm, with an approx 50/50 mix of rolling farmland and rolling to steep native bush. We have dairy cows, calves and horses so please leave gates as you find them - and in general open paddocks are for farming and not the bike park. Horse trekking also utilises part of the bike park so please give way to horses at all times and follow all signs. There is a mix of hand cut single trails and machine cut tracks through the bush and a moto cross track. There is riding available for all ages and abilities - the park tends towards enduro style riding but we have tracks that range from Easy - Extreme. On occasion we may have bikes to hire, you must ring in advance(day before) to arrange. The Bike Park is based around an old aircraft hanger where you can also camp, no booking required but check this page for other events. The hanger is a communal facility which has wifi, sufficient solar power for lights and charging devices, running hot and cold water, simple showers, composting toilets, bbq(BYO gas) and picnic table seating/couches, and a fire pit. The park is often unmanned so sign on and payment is done electronically or via the cash box. All information can be found on the wall in the Hanger. There's a new return for the end of Bush Highway!

In case you're time poor - hard right after you enter Easy Stream paddock, follow the fence line, keeping the fence on your right and then just follow the new track. You will pop out at the new culvert.

And then, of course, on the way back from putting some extra signage at the end of The Bush Highway we noticed a lot of extra water and mud ........more than normal, even for us in winter.

So a bit of investigation found a knee deep swamp and a blocked culvert. So of course, it was digger time.

Culvert unblocked, ditches cleared and tracks de-mudded!🤣🤣🤣

There's something very satisfying watching mud being scraped off a track!

So....the sun was out today so a chance to get out in the park and do some of the many ongoing adjustments! Keep an eye ...

Keep an eye out for some of our signs which we are hoisting up to eye height for riders and hopefully above cow scratching pole height!

And at the end of Bush Highway there's a new way home! Follow the outside of fence line home.

Vehicle gate at one end, pedestrian gate at the other and two removable fence sections in the middle. 😁
