Not every game goes the way we hope, but every game provides an opportunity to learn, grow, and improve.

While today's result wasn't what we were aiming for, there were still plenty of positives to take away. It was fantastic to see players putting into practice some of the new skills we've been working on at training. Our defence showed great confidence using aerial balls to relieve pressure and create opportunities, proving that the hard work on the training field is starting to pay off.

Another win for our youngest Springfield stars, and what a joy this team is to watch! Week after week, they continue to impress with their determination, teamwork, and enthusiasm.

This victory was a true team effort from start to finish. Our goalkeeper was outstanding, clearing the ball time and time again and giving the team a solid platform to build from with support from defence. The midfield worked tirelessly, moving the ball up the field with confidence and creating opportunities, while our strikers made the most of these opportunities finding the net. The perfect end to a team play.

Every player played their part in this fantastic performance, and it's exciting to see how much this young team continues to grow each week.

With all three Springfield teams taking the field at 6pm and several injuries affecting the squad, numbers were once again stretched. The Div 1 Men called on the support of some of our Div 2 players to help field a full team of 11.

The extra players stepped up brilliantly, making a significant contribution to a strong team performance. Springfield moved the ball well, cut out opposition attacks with timely interceptions, and defended with determination throughout the match.

"It was a really enjoyable game to be part of," said Rubber. "The boys passed the ball well, worked hard for each other, and showed great commitment."

With no substitutes available, the team had to dig deep and maintain their intensity for the full game. Their efforts were rewarded with a well-deserved 3–1 victory.

Div 2 Men came out firing against Ruatangata and delivered a commanding performance, securing an impressive 4-0 victory!

From the first whistle, Springfield controlled the tempo, moving the ball with confidence and keeping constant pressure on their opponents. The attacking structure paid off with four well-earned goals, capping off a strong all-round team display.

A special highlight of the match was club stalwart Rubber, who stepped up under pressure and calmly converted two penalty strokes, showing nerves of steel when it mattered most.

Div 1 Men claimed a thrilling late victory over Hikurangi in a fiercely contested encounter that kept spectators engaged from the opening whistle to the final seconds.

The match was played at a high tempo, with both sides producing dangerous attacking hockey and creating opportunities at either end of the field. For much of the contest, neither team could break the deadlock as defences stood firm.

The turning point came when we tightened our midfield. By closing down space through the centre, we began to control possession and steadily build momentum as the game wore on.

With the scores locked at 0-0 deep into the fourth quarter, the match appeared destined for a draw. However, our persistence finally paid off, with a breakthrough goal with less than a minute remaining on the clock.

The dramatic late strike sealed a deserved 1-0 victory, rewarding us for their determination and composure in a hard-fought battle against a quality Hikurangi side.

From the sidelines, it is incredibly exciting to watch our youngest team continue to blossom week after week. Every game they seem to unlock another level, and the hockey they are producing is nothing short of impressive.

Their passing is linking beautifully, set plays are coming together, and they are starting to play with a confidence and understanding that you would normally expect from a team that has been together for years. The growth in such a short space of time has been remarkable to witness.

What stands out most, however, is the commitment from every single player. Each time they step onto the turf, they leave everything out there. The effort, determination, and heart they show for one another is building something truly special.

For Springfield's return to the JMC competition, this group has been an absolute joy to watch. They have tremendous potential, a fantastic team culture, and an exciting future ahead of them. If they continue on this path, there is no limit to what they can achieve together.

D1 Women may have fallen 1-0 to Marist, but the scoreline doesn't tell the full story of the heart and determination shown out on the turf.

For much of the game, it was a hard-fought battle, and when the final quarter arrived, our girls found another gear. The team lifted the intensity, applied relentless pressure, and took the game to their opponents. While the goal we deserved never quite came, the effort, grit, and belief shown by every player was something to be proud of.

What a game to watch! In wet and slippery conditions, RAW and Te Kamo High School put on an absolute hockey battle from start to finish. The action flowed end-to-end all game, with both teams creating chances and refusing to give an inch.

RAW showed incredible determination, matching their opponents every step of the way and fighting for every ball. The defence stood tall under pressure, while the attack kept pushing forward looking for that breakthrough goal.

With the scores locked and the final whistle looming, it looked like the game could go either way. In a heartbreaking finish, Te Kamo High School managed to convert a penalty corner right on full time to sneak away with a 1-0 victory.

Despite the result, RAW can hold their heads high after a courageous performance in one of the most competitive and entertaining matches of the day.

What a fantastic effort from our D2 Good Vibes crew yesterday! The scoreboard may not have reflected the amount of hockey we played, but the team came out playing our game!!

Our defence was outstanding, clearing the ball with confidence and pulling off some incredible goal-line saves. The midfield worked tirelessly all game, driving the ball forward time and time again and creating countless opportunities. Up front, our attack kept the pressure on, breaking into the circle repeatedly and giving the opposition plenty to think about.

While we couldn't quite find the back of the net, the growth, teamwork, and determination on display were impossible to miss. This team is really starting to find its rhythm, and it's exciting to see them coming into their own. The wins are coming and when they do, they'll be well deserved!

There was a welcome back to the field to a returning player and our POD returning after a couple of years.
