We’ve had some special moments in rallying, but Vanuatu was an experience like no other.

The passion here isn’t just seen, it’s felt. In every village, on every corner, and across every smile in the service park, there was an energy you simply couldn't escape.

We spent the week grinning ear to ear, completely caught up in an electric atmosphere that reminded us of why we love this sport.

Vanuatu might be a small island nation, but its heart and spirit are larger than life. Being part of this community and feeling their genuine hospitality firsthand is an experience that will stay with the team for a very long time to come.

A week on from the Vanuatu International Rally and we’re still buzzing. What an absolute belter of an event.

Unfortunately the car threw a few proper tantrums and spat out a couple of bits it definitely needed, so it certainly wasn't a holiday for the spanners or the crew.

Although it was frustrating not being able to show our true pace, it ultimately didn't matter. This event was every bit the very best of our sport - epic roads, pure camaraderie, plenty of cold beers, and flat-out fun that made every trouble fade right into the background.

An unforgettable adventure in a remarkable part of the world. 🇻🇺

As much as we loved freezing our nuts off at Rally Southland, we’re pretty excited to shift our focus to the next event: the Vanuatu International Rally at the end of August. ☀️☀️☀️

Well, that didn’t quite go to plan... 😅

A fairly decent puddle on the outside of a corner had other ideas, pulling us off track for a quick inspection of the local flora, a few fence posts, and a close-up view of a small creek. 🌊🪵

Plenty of positives, though: post-Stage 1 service tweaks completely transformed the car, with Stage 2 splits looking rapid and great pace to close out the day.

Massive effort from the Force and Hunt crew to patch us up and get us back out for the final stages. 🔧💨

Although we would have liked to do a few more kms without the scenic detour, we made strides in development — and accidentally gave the Yaris Cup crew and spares package an unscripted crash test for next year. Safe to say the support system passed with flying colours, even if our testing protocol was a little extreme! 🏁

⚫️🔴IT’S RALLY WEEK🔴⚫️

We’re heading to the deep south for this weekend’s Rally Southland.

The focus for Ben & Tony will be to log valuable stage kilometres in the GR Yaris Cup Car—marking a return to a small, fast Toyota for Ben for the first time since his Starlet days.

The goal this weekend is strictly development, engineering progress, and tracking down the best cheese rolls the south has to offer.

Keep an eye out for the Yaris on the southern stages.

Behind the scenes at the workshop as the GR Yaris Cup Car prepares for Rally Southland.

Ben recently dropped by the build facility to check out the workshop before hitting the gravel for a first-hand test.

The initial feedback is incredibly positive:
“Excited to put the Toyota Cup car through its paces in a rally. I drove in a test and was amazed how good they are to drive.”

Ben has been working with the team on a few setup tweaks to dial it into his liking, helping refine the platform ahead of the official championship launch in 2027.
