🚨 NEXT SATURDAY — DON’T BE THE ONE! 🚨

You’ve seen the posts.
You’ve seen the map.
You’ve seen the video.
You’ve seen the reminders
You’ve even heard the reminders…

So next Saturday, 19 September, remember we’re on our ALTERNATIVE COURSE, starting on the Riverside Drive side of the Hātea Loop by the skate park. 📍

Please don’t turn up at Te Matau e Pohe wondering where everybody is.

🤣🤣

Now… there is one small matter standing between us and actually having an event to turn up to. 👀

🚨 CRUCIAL — WE NEED:
⏱️ Timekeeper x2
📍 Marshal x2

These four roles are non-negotiable. If we don’t have two Timekeepers and two Marshals, we won’t be able to safely put the event on.

We also need our equally lovely hi-vis humans for:

📱 Barcode Scanner
✍️ Report Writer — oh hello, old friend 🙄😂
🚩 Pre-event Setup
🧹 Post-event Takedown

So there we have it. Eight roles. Eight humans.

We provide the hi-vis.
You provide the human.
Deal? 🦺💙

And whatever you do…

DON’T. BE. THE. ONE. 👀🤣

🌟 Milestone Monday 🌟

Another Monday, another chance to celebrate some fantastic milestones from our Whangarei parkrun community. 💙

🎉 Official parkrun Milestones

⚫ 100 – Oscar O, Fiona B

🟣 25 – Cristoval James M, Vic E

🎉 Unofficial Milestones

✨ 400 – James M

✨ 200 – Marius L

Huge congratulations to you all!

Whether it’s 25, 100, 200 or an incredible 400 parkruns, every milestone is built the same way — one Saturday at a time, one 5k at a time, and plenty of getting out of bed when staying there might have been tempting. 😄

And as always, the numbers we list here aren’t the only milestones that matter.

Your 26th matters.
Your 101st matters.
Your third matters.

Every Saturday you show up adds another little chapter to your parkrun story. 💙

Keep on keeping on.

See you Saturday! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

A quick shout-out to some absolute legends this morning! 🙌

💙 Ines and Nadia, for the bright idea—and successful retrieval!—of the poster that blew into the river.

💙 Ron Cullen, for running the “Caution Runners” sign over to the other side of the bridge before parkrun started.

Legends, all of you. Thank you! 👏

📣 A little heads-up for NEXT Saturday, 19 September! 📣

We’re changing things up for one week and using our alternative course, starting on the Riverside Drive side of the Hātea Loop, by the skate park. 🏃‍♀️🚶‍♂️

So please, please, PLEASE don’t automatically head to our usual start at Te Matau e Pohe — because if you get there and think…

👀 “Blimey, it’s unusually quiet this morning…”

…it’s because WE’RE ALL OVER THE OTHER SIDE! 🤣

📌 We’ve pinned two posts to the top of our page with everything you need to know:
🗺️ One with the alternative course map
🎥 One with a short video showing the route

Have a look before next Saturday so you know exactly where you’re heading.

Same parkrun. Same lovely people. Different starting point. 💙

And yes, despite this post, the pinned map, the video and the reminders still to come…

We know there’ll be one. 😂

🤣

🦺 Helloooo… is anybody out there? 👀😂

Our two remaining volunteer roles appear to be playing an impressive game of hide and seek:

🎯 Funnel Manager
📝 Report Writer

We asked nicely.
We wrote a poem.
We even made it rhyme.

And yet… here they remain. 🤣

Saturday is going ahead — all our critical roles are safely filled — but we’d really love to finish off that roster.

So, if you’ve been reading our posts thinking “surely someone else will do it…”

Plot twist: YOU could be someone else. 😏🦺

Comment below or send us a message if you can help.

🎶 Two little roles and then we’re done,
Ready for another Saturday of parkrun fun!

A Funnel Manager to keep things in line,
And a Report Writer to tell us we were all divine. 😇

Just two lovely humans are all that we need,
Then a FULL roster we can declare with speed! 🦺🎉

📣 And a little reminder while we have your attention…

THIS Saturday, 12 September, is our normal course — same place, same start, nothing unusual to see here! 😄

But NEXT Saturday, 19 September, we’ll be using our alternative course, starting over on the Riverside Drive side of the Hātea Loop by the skate park.

We’ve pinned all the information you need to the top of our page, including a map and short video. 📌

So on the 19th, if you turn up at Te Matau e Pohe and think…

“Ummm… where is everyone?!” 👀

That’ll be because we’re all over the other side! 😂

For now, though — Funnel Manager and Report Writer, where are you hiding?

Two humans stand between us and a beautifully full roster! 💙🦺
