So despite the lack of activity on this page the lads have been very busy prepping for the Evolution Sails NZ, RNI. Theres been lots of hard work on the girl herself with Mark slaving away in Port Whangarei Marine Centre bringing her back to cruising spec, and giving her some much needed love. Despite multiple weather setbacks (Ash complained that excuses help no one and just to get it done) There has been a rather extensive job list undertaken but of course its never fully completed however all the big ticket items are completed.

The rig has been unstepped and stripped, rod heads and other rigging fittings die tested, and the tube and spreaders are freshly painted. Some fresh halyards and sheets, a new instrument brackets, a boom extension and some new sheaves.
The deck has been freshly non-skided, the topsides returned to her original decals and the bottom has been, scrapped, sanded and re antifouled. Plus a littany of miscalaneous boatbuilding jobs to numerous to name. Ash arrives shortly and will be straight into that last minute boat prep with Mark, and hopefully bringing a few late Christmas presents to fill a couple holes in the sail wardrobe. Lets get at it.

So for the first time since Easter 2021 the mighty Relapse moves from her mooring in Opua. What would normally be a quick trip down the coast to Whangarei was significantly slowed by bottom growth longer than Ashs' hair, and enough oysters to choke a swingers Christmas party. Now we can deal to the job list, I promise it's really short 😑.

We both know people who have been affected by su***de. In New Zealand su***de rates are very high a...

We're on our for our qualifying voyage, testing out our almost new A5 and MH0 as we struggle along with not much breeze just trying to keep the boat rolling. And as per usual dad doesn't trust my trimming as he comes up from off watch.
