LAUNCHING IS PART OF THE LESSON

Before the sail fills and the boat leaves the beach, there’s a lot to learn.
Preparing gear, checking equipment, and launching safely are all part of becoming a confident sailor. These small moments teach responsibility, patience, and attention to detail, skills that matter both on and off the water.

We’ve been a little quiet online, but there’s still plenty happening on the water at RCSF.

This term is coming to a close, with our courses starting to wrap up, before we take a short winter break and start building towards the next round of summer sailing in October.

Over the next little while, we’ll be sharing more from the water, what our sailors have been up to, and what’s coming next at Manly.

Follow along because summer sailing will be here before we know it.

Let’s go girls 💪⛵️

From RCSF coach Maddie Rist, the team is absolutely smashing it at the PredictWind Girls Regatta, and we couldn’t be prouder of how well they’re sailing.

So good to see our RCSF girls out there giving it everything. Keep it up girls, you’re doing awesome!

Registration is open for the 2026 New Zealand O'pen Skiff National Championship, 9th-12th April!

The Bay of Islands Yacht Club is excited to host the 2026 O'pen Skiff National Championship! This will be an epic event in an amazing location with a family friendly atmosphere. Parents will enjoy views of the race course directly from the club grounds and a great restaurant and bar to round out the experience!

The event will kick off with a training clinic & fun sail on Thursday, 9th Feb! The Nationals regatta will take place on 10th-12th April. Gold, Silver and Development fleets included. The Development fleet experience will be facilitated by a coach. The event will include Adventure Sailing and the perfect blend of fun and competition!

Don't miss the Friday night BBQ dinner (cook your own) - $20 per adult and kids pay their age (e.g.10 year old pays $10).

Burger & chips night on Saturday - SAILORS eat for FREEE, kids $10, Adults $15 (includes burger, chips and soft drink).

Charters will be available on a very limited basis. Please contact your local club to see if boats can be organized for allocation and transport first.
