Leading the charge for the Kiwis is the reliable Kane Lindsay. No stranger to high-pressure cricket, Kane knows how to win, having successfully captained his local side, Caught Short, to multiple Auckland league titles and NZ National Championships. 🏆💪

The last week of LMS before finals has been sealed! 🦭

We saw the Wicket Warriors 1 take on the Whanganui Wanderers CC two.

The Warriors won the toss and elected to bat first, all the Wanderers kept it sharp in the field, with Chris Jacques taking an early wicket, keeping the Warriors down to 44 runs in the first 10 overs before Shins Sebastian and Premlal Shajimon starting firing off, with both Warriors scoring 45 runs each with a couple wickets falling in between, locking in 118/3 for their first innings.

The Wanderers came out in the 2nd innings with the bat. Joe Gray, Yaz Kareem, and Chris Jacques leading the Wanderers first 10 overs being on par with the Warriors batting innings 44 runs. The Wanderers couldn’t find the same success the Warriors had, as
Shins Sebastian knocked them over with a bowling hat-trick, serving a 3 course meal of ducks to the Wanderers side, this left Yamato Kusano-Whetton as the last man standing gaining himself 27 runs to bat the rest of the innings giving the Wanderers a total of 84/7. 🏏

The Warrior Shins Sebastian locked in this victory with their 44 runs and 3 wickets making them MAN OF THE MATCH. 🔥

Finally a Sunday without rain, this meant we were out and able to get a match of LMS in despite the wind blowing teams away!

The first match had the Whanganui Wanderers CC Too take on the Wicket Warriors 2. 🔥

The Wanderers opened up the batting, with 94 runs after 20 overs, Martin Cloete getting 43 of those runs with a gigantic 6 going over jubilee stadium and three clean 4s, before getting caught! 🏏

The Warriors were sharp out on the field and the pitch with the average total of all bowlers economy at 4.99, with Pradeep Gopala pillai, Jibu Johnson & Arun Achankunju securing wickets but all bowlers put up a fantastic effort keeping the Wanderers at bay.

The Wanderers weren’t going to go down without a fight, putting a valiant shift in, keeping the Warriors run rate low, while taking wickets. Joe Grey led the charge taking down 3 wickets, with Yamato Kusano-Whetton, Yaz Kareem & Fletcher Bowman taking down 1 themselves.

It was the steel nerves of Premlal Shajimon, who kept the warriors hopes alive scoring 32 with a 4 & a 6 to rev his team into gear to eventually secure the WIN with 95 runs in 18.3 overs making him the MAN OF THE MATCH. 🏆
