Take a Breath is a private studio (small group or private lessons) where you can learn to master the skill of meditation, learn the art of relaxation, giving you more time to do the things you need to do in this very busy time we live in, learn different breathing techniques to energise or relax you, to combat depression or just centre you, learn ancient tried and true methods to cleanse the body.

I am so excited to share my knowledge and teach you, so you can make a difference to your daily life.

Its not just about the exercise. Everyone can move their body. Its about placement, when to breathe, where to move the part of the body from. It was called Contrology after all and once you can understand how to move your body, everything you do albeit even walking will slowly change and then one day you'll notice that mayby you stand a wee bit taller or lift a weight a way bit better, walk up the stairs without leaning to one side etc.

At Take a Breath we watch each individual body and work with them. Not everyone is created equally so we help guide you to where you are at the present. Move better with us.

Awesome way to develop better deep core stability and lengthen the body creating space.

Decompress the spine, support your hips, the pelvis, the lower back, the natural curves of your spine, and it will improve posture.

TEASER!
So many ways to do the Teaser on different appartuses all to support and build solid foundations for your Mat practice. Each exercise below carries the same name but all have different ways to control the movement, with each however working from your Powerhouse, moving from the centre out. Sometimes its gravity to help you. Sometimes its Will and Desire. All part of Pilates. That's the genius of a carefully built system of specific exercises, none are random. The more you do the exercises, the more you understand your body and just how clever Contrology realy is.

Spine Corrector or half Barrell. Seems to be one of everyone's favourite appartus at the moment so we decided to make it a bigger class!

For those of who who dont know what this is or its purpose; it helps restore the natural curves of the spine, improve posture and build deep core strength. The exercises are created for this appartus and there will be familiar similarities from your Mat and Reformer exercises. After all, Pilates or Contrology is a system build on a method. However, we can teach you how to move correctly if you haven't done Pilates before. There are some inversions as it helps decompress and let gravity be your friend.

FEET we are always looking at them (you get to look at mine now, sorry 😂) I reckon in a line up Tamara and I could name everyone's feet to the body attached. Thats not in a creepy sell my feet on the internet creepy 🤭. We observe.
Not only in Pilates but with all movement that happens in the studio. Why, because it dictates full body posture that has a ripple effect going up through the body. They show how you stand and walk. They carry load, absorb the shock of walking and running and provide sensory feedback for balance and movement.

This wee appartus is harder than it looks. It can help re-establish lower body alignment, strengthen intricate muscles in the feet which in turn can help with balance and posture.

It helps engage deep pathways that connect your feet to your core and glutes.

Look after your feet!
