In September of 2009, Brent and Sharon made the exciting and bold move to relocate their store 100 metres down the road to a store more than twice the size. This store has 640 square metres of showroom space, and is now

the largest outdoor/adventure store in the Eastern Bay Of Plenty. The store is packed with quality equipment for your enjoyment of the outdoors and leisure from clothing, footwear, kayaking, packs, sleeping bags, and camping. Whakatane Great Outdoors has a reputation of supporting all products that they sell which is why for Brent and Sharon quality is their priority. Just look at some of these exclusive brands such as Icebreaker, One Planet, Merrell, Keen, Ocean Kayaks, Freedom Camping, Thule Roof Rack Systems, Chalky Digits, Berghaus, Mountain Equipment and Earth Sea Sky to name just a few. Whakatane Great Outdoors is part of the Kiwi Outdoors Group, a group made up of specialist outdoor, independent owner operators. Being associated with the Kiwi Outdoors Group allows us to work together in sourcing quality products that we are so well known for. This allows us to be very competitive, giving our customers the best deal possible. Our fully trained staff all enjoy the outdoors whether it is traveling the world, hunting, kayak fishing, camping or just simply enjoying walking Linny Boy, our shop dog.
