🚨🚨 ATTENTION ALL SATURDAY JUNIOR HOCKEY 🚨🚨

As previously mentioned, our junior hockey program has gone through some changes and we no longer have a dedicated Junior Coordinator.

In order to ensure the smooth running of the season, we're introducing a roster system to help share the load.

Each week, one school will take a turn helping with the smooth operation of the day. This may include things like setting up the field, packing down, helping with game coordination, and lending a hand where needed. By working together, we can ensure our young players continue to enjoy a well-run and positive hockey experience each week.

You will not be responsible for the entire day - there will be time-slots for each grade, and you will only cover the grade in which your team plays. Additionally, given there are plenty of teams, the majority of the teams will only be required to do this once only in the season.

Some posters will go up in the pavilion providing you with the information you need for your time slot. For the most part, it is simply a supervisory role to ensure the day runs on time. Things like, opening, watering the turf and arranging umpires will be done by the committee.

We appreciate the ongoing support of our school communities, volunteers, coaches, managers, and families who help make Saturday hockey possible for our young players.

Thank you for being part of our Hockey whānau and helping make Saturday mornings a success for our tamariki. 💙🏑

📣🚨Calling all junior grade parents/caregivers 📣 🚨

Unfortunately we have lost our Junior coordinator for the year due to a family emergency.

Our coordinator has been in this role for over ten years and has done an exceptional job at making the competition what it is today. We will be forever grateful to her.

But we now need your help! We are looking for a handful of people who may be able to help on the day for the Wednesday, Friday and Saturday games. If we had a group of helpers, we could run a bit of a roster system.

What’s involved?
- Turning on the water where required
- Setting the timer for the games
- Ensuring teams get on the turf and games run on time
- Directing coaches and umpires, giving them the scorecards etc
- Being able to lock up, quick vacuum etc if required

You don’t need to know how to ply hockey to do this. Full training on all of the above will be provided to anyone who puts their hand up to help.

Let’s muck in as a community and continue to provide an excellent competition for our Tamariki 🏑.

Hi all, we have a team member who thinks she may have left her black Casio watch down at the turf yesterday. She played the 1.30pm game on the northern side of the turf by the trees.
She is quite upset so if someone has picked this up can you please let us know. Thanks 🙏🏻

Don't forget this weekend!!

A reminder to everyone who has registered for the Under 18 Trials, that they start this Sunday (26th April) at Rotorua Hockey.

All players should arrive no later than 9.40am and check in with the selectors on Turf 1.

Please make sure you have all the required equipment eg Mouth Guard, Shin Pads, Water Bottle etc.

We are on the hunt for a local builder who may be interested in helping us sort out new center boards for our turf dividers. Our current ones desperately need replacing, please get in touch if you are interested, could be an awesome opportunity for advertising 😉
