It's getting pretty nippy out there!

If you're struggling to shift the cold from your bones in the evening, or want a way to warm up that doesn't result in a high power bill, try this!

Sit down, stand up, then sit down again. Repeat 10 times.

Too easy? Try crossing your arms over your chest and taking three seconds to lower yourself back into the chair before standing up again.

This movement gets your leg muscles working, raises your heart rate, and helps warm your body from the inside out.

You might think the problem is the old ankle, knee, or shoulder injury. Often, it’s everything around it.

The body gets clever after an injury, your muscles compensate, and you don’t always notice until something starts flaring up again.

Pilates can help rebuild that stability and control, but there are also a few simple things you can do at home.

One of my favourites:
👉 Sit on the floor with one leg stretched out in front of you and loop a towel or band around your foot. Keeping the leg long, pull the towel toward you until you feel the stretch through the calf and back of the leg.

Hold for 20-30 seconds each side and breeeeeathe through it.

Great for tight calves, hamstrings, and achy legs after training or game day.

Hours at a computer and hunched over a phone can leave muscles tight, weak, and doing all sorts of weird compensating.

Pilates can do wonders, but there are also some great stretches you can do at home.

One of my favourites is to stand facing the corner of the room with your forearms resting on each wall, then gently lean your body forward. You should feel a stretch through the chest and front of the shoulders. Hold for 20–30 seconds and breathe normally through it.

Life gets busy, but it's great to try to incorporate these little stretches into your day to help reset your muscles.
