The Buller Rugby Union is responsible for providing rugby activities in the Buller District. We provide club rugby from Under 5 level right up to senior men's and women's rugby. Where's the BRU Crew this weekend? Everywhere!

Another massive day of rugby is ahead of us tomorrow, with teams spread right across the region.

We're looking forward to taking our JAB grades to Karamea for the second year running. A huge thank you to the Karamea crew for hosting what is always a fantastic day of rugby.

Meanwhile, Reefton hosts another home round of rugby, and we wish the organisers all the best for their Golden Oldies Tournament as well.

Back in Westport, our Kawatiri U16s and U18s will be in action at Victoria Square!

Then it's time for the big one.
The Life Members Trophy and Foote Shield are on the line as White Star and Westport go head-to-head. Will the shield remain at the Beehive, or will White Star take it across town til next season.

And don't rush off after the final whistle! 🐝✨

Westport Rugby Club's Ladies Night kicks off after the game, with raffles and fundraising activities supporting the Buller Women's Health Fun. It's a fantastic cause that provides valuable support in our community, so bring along some spare change and help support a group making a real difference. 💕

Good luck to all players, coaches, managers, referees and volunteers this weekend. See you on the sidelines! 👏

Congratulations to our 2026 Buller U52kg Seddon Shield Squad!

After a strong trial process, we're excited to announce our initial squad who will begin preparations for this year's Seddon Shield Tournament - an achievement they should all be incredibly proud of 👏

The squad will now begin training ahead of the annual Bernie Stewart Memorial Trophy match against West Coast before the final travelling squad of 20 is selected for the 90th Seddon Shield Tournament in Greymouth this July.

Congratulations to all selected players and their families. We look forward to watching this group grow, work hard, and represent our region with pride.

To those who missed out this time, keep your heads up. U52kg is just one representative opportunity, and there will be more chances to pull on the red and blue later this season. Keep working hard, keep enjoying your rugby, and we're excited to see what the future holds. ❤️💙

🏉 Another big weekend of rugby coming up for BRU! 🏉

Our JAB grades are spread right across Buller this weekend, with games being hosted in both Reefton and Karamea.

We work hard to share the travel around during the season, so we'd love to see everyone making the effort to support our hosts when it's their turn to welcome us. Westports are heading back up to Karamea, while White Star are making the trip to Reefton.

The exception this week is our White Star/Old Boys U10 side, who will get another run around on Victoria Square before the older lads.

Our youth grades are also on the move, with the U14s heading to Reefton, while the U16s and U18s get the treat of a home game at Victoria Square. 🙌

Whether you're travelling the highway, heading over the Bluff, or staying local, we wish all of our players, coaches, managers, referees, and supporters a fantastic weekend of rugby.

Safe travels, play hard, and make plenty of noise on the sidelines! 💙❤️🏉
