One greedy fish! Fish and Game tagged and released this fish on the 14th of Jan 2026 from the upper Tekapo River Spillway, and at the time of tagging it weighed 1.18 pound. The fish had put on approximately 7.82 pound in 208 days which is very impressive! A great catch Tim. Well done.

Mark and Tim wanted to learn the tricks and techniques of fishing the canals before doing several DIY days themselves. The day got off to a cracking start with a double hookup on the first drift and the fish kept coming throughout the day with both anglers catching some cracking rainbows, browns and even a great salmon which no doubt will taste delicious.
