Results from last Sunday's Annual Prizegiving.
These are the results from the competition where you take a photo of your fish on the measure mat and send in to the club throughout the year.

Although we did not have many entries it is something we wish to encourage going forward.

Hi everyone

As a lot of you will know, one of the driving forces behind the establishment of this fishing club was the discussion being had around the improvement of the ramp facilities at Port Albert. This process has somewhat stagnated within Council over the last year or so.

The Rodney Local Board is currently finalising their draft plan for the next 3 years and seeking submissions on this. Unfortunately, the Club has only just been made aware of this process and these submissions close tomorrow.

We ask that everyone who is able goes on to the Council website and makes a submission on the plan, pushing to have the boat ramp facilities at Port Albert upgraded to match those around the rest of the Auckland area -link for submissions is below.

Key things to highlight would be the safety concerns around the ramp, i.e., excessive mud making the ramp slippery and exposed steel rods, both likely to cause serious injury. Another consideration is the need to have an up to scratch facility given the amount of usage this ramp is now getting as one of the only all-tide access points into the Kaipara Harbour from the Auckland region. Feel free to add anything else that you think would add weight to the submission.
