Welcome back to the cricket season , Saturday we traveled up to Maungakaramea Cricket Club for a T20 warm up match.
First of all thank you Tomarata primary school for letting us use your school van & secondary a massive thank you to Cam Caldwell for offering to drive us there and back safely.
We had a mixture of a side with Pakiri Cricket Selwyn Collins , Mangakaramea Tom Lovegrove and Christopher John Page also the camels debut of Amila Abeyrathna whos new to the area working at oceans restaurant Te Arai links.
MGK won the toss and elected to have a bat.
Selwyn & Cram took the new ball both bowling well with Selwyn picking up the first wicket.
From there all the Camels bowlers bowled very well with Morgan Longville picking up his best bowling figures for the side with 4 for 2 being supported nicely from Jono Costello & Amila both grabbing wickets , we reduced MGK to a score of 95.
In return Matty T & Nate have gone out , 30 for 0 after 6 then in true Camels style were 50 for 7 requiring 40 more as the rain came down very heavy and all players decided that was that and its time to get upstairs.
A few aftermatch words and a great feed was put on by the hosts followed by the All blacks.
Congrats to players of the day Pingu & James merry who had a mudshake drink off with pingu coming off second best.
Thank you having us and hosting well.
Also a massive shout out to Barry Hardy from Imara Recruitment Ltd sponsoring our match day balls.
We look forward to the next match and we wish you all the best this season.
Cheers the Camels π«
