This workshop is for Players and Coaches. We would like to see all PDP and Rep players attend. This is also for Coaches to enhance their skills and learn about coaching the fundamentals of Defence, Timing, Attacking, Passing. It will also cover NetballSmart - strength, jumping and landing. This week, our coaches and managers were lucky enough to attend a strapping session with our incredible local physios – Sandra from The Hand Clinic and Rebecca from Epic Physio NZ 🙌

What started as a learning session quickly turned into a full-body strapping workshop… with everyone taped up from ankles to thumbs in every colour imaginable 😂

Between the laughs (and a few questionable strapping attempts ), our team learned how to confidently support common netball injuries – making sure our players are looked after when it matters most on game day.

We are so lucky to have access to such knowledgeable and supportive professionals right here in our own town 💙 If injuries pop up this season, they are ready for us and we know you’re in the best hands!

💙 Sponsor Shoutout – The Hamilton Family 💛

We would like to give a huge thank you to Scott, Tania and Deane- the Hamilton family, who have been loud and proud supporters of the Wellsford Netball Club.

This year, they’ve gone above and beyond by sponsoring a brand new gazebo for the club – something that will be used week in, week out throughout the season.

Not only do they sponsor us but they also show up. Whether it’s lending a hand at events or supporting our community, they are always there when we need them. We even had Dean spending his birthday helping out at our Open Day… now that’s dedication!

A massive thank you to everyone who came down to our Open Day and collected uniforms especially braving the rain to be there. The energy and smiles made it such an awesome vibe, and it was so good seeing our netball whānau all coming together to kick off the season! 🏐✨

A huge shoutout to Green By Nature 🌿 your support went above and beyond. Not only did you sponsor 400 sausages,bread and onions but you also showed up with your team, ran the BBQ, and kept everything going despite the weather. We truly appreciate your commitment to supporting local clubs and our community 💙

Thanks again to the Bottom 4square for sponsoring us with ice to keep your drinks cold and Lynette Gubb for saving us last minute and providing us access and shelter for the day 🏐

And finally, to our amazing committee — the work that happens behind the scenes doesn’t go unnoticed. So much time and effort has gone into getting this season underway, and we’re lucky to have such a passionate team leading the way 🙌

This is an awesome free workshop that our incredible local Physio's are putting on for the netball community. If you are interested in attending please let me know either via dm or commenting below so I can confirm our club numbers attendance 🤍

Our sideline strapping course is happening again! Let us know if you want to be there so we can manage equipment. We'll show you how to strap an ankle, a thumb, a wrist and a knee. It's ok if you've been before. Come back and practise again with us. Can't wait to see you! Please note the change in location! We're having it at my place on Worker Rd, underneath the old pub.

🌧️🏐 WELLSFORD NETBALL TRIALS – FINAL DAY

What a way to wrap up trials!

Our players were prepared to brave the rain and the wet courts but thankfully we got through it without getting soaked- a true reflection of playing winter sports 💪

Across both trial days, we’ve seen determination, teamwork, and some incredible potential. Trialing is never easy, but we are so proud of every single player who stepped up and gave it their all 💙💛

Special thanks to our umpires Leah Dinsdale and Katie Williams for helping us these trials. Without umpires we have no game so we really appreciate you ladies stepping in to help.

Thank you to our players and whānau for your support we’re excited to see you all on the 11th for our open day and get ready to kick off this season.

Teams will be announced tomorrow.
