Wellsford Club Masters Team lost to Howick in our Division 3 final today. Tough games all round, especially for Stu and Matt. We finished as per our seeding - 2nd. A good effort for a crew that was thrown together last minute, no trainings, just giving it a go 😊

Next year this event is in New Plymouth. There's already talk of getting a team together, fundraising etc so watch this space.

I'd recommend this event for those who like playing squash with a strong social influence throughout. If this sounds like an event you'd enjoy, have a chat with the guys who played to get more info.

Day 2 of Masters Club Team comp was quite the battle. We played 3rd seed Devoy 1 and it was a real nail biter. We got there....just. Shout out to Luke and Matt who were both 2 games down but managed to persevere to win in 5. I missed getting a photo of Rex both days, hence the casual off court pic 😊

So we're through to the Division 3 final. We play Howick tomorrow at 12.30pm. Be great to have some Wellsford supporters there to cheer on the team. Donald is away so we've called in club stalwart Stu Oldfield.

Our Wellsford team are off to a good start in the NZ Masters Club Team event in Whangarei this weekend. Seeded no 2 in Division 3, our first opponent was Royal Oak. We won 4-0 although there were a couple of close games with Donald and Rex both being pushed to 4. Team was: Donald, Rex, Matty B and Luke.

Today (Saturday 11am) we play Devoy 1 with the same team line up.

If you're in the Whangarei area, feel free to call in and support our Wellsford crew.
