As if one training and a game each week wasn't enough... our U7 Red Devils were back for more on Sunday! 🏉Plenty of fun, plenty of laughs, and plenty of time spent with rugby mates. Great to see the awesome turnout for the impromptu get together at the Domain of our littlest Red Devils.

PART TIME ROLE - CLUB ADMINISTRATOR
Tomarata Rugby Club are looking for a Club Administrator to assist with key weekly tasks. This is a paid fixed term part time role, average 8 hours per week. This is a role that is suited to a local, who is wanting to support the club, whilst being paid for your time and effort. CENTENARY MATCH – TOMARATA ALL STARS VS GREAT BARRIER BUSH PIGS

A massive thanks to Stephen Whyte for taking the whistle. Stephen has always never hesitated to officiate the games we have at the club over the years and we really appreciate it. Luke Gallagher from Northland Rugby for the unreal photos from the day.

The long-running rivalry and friendship between Tomarata and the Great Barrier Bush Pigs added another chapter over the weekend, with the Barrier boys making the huge trip across to help celebrate our Centenary in style. Whether it’s us heading over on the 6-hour boat ride or them making the trip here, it’s always a top weekend and this one definitely delivered.

After plenty of old heads dusted the boots off for the occasion, it didn’t take long for the combinations to click back into place. The Tomarata lads found their rhythm early, throwing the ball around and setting up some quality tries, while the hits were just as big as everyone remembered.

The Bush Pigs brought plenty of grit and never stopped competing, with the scoreline not really reflecting the effort they put in across the park. Big thanks as well to the Tomarata boys who pulled on the Bush Pigs jersey to help out with numbers.

Most importantly, it was awesome to see Senior rugby back at the club and the game absolutely did justice to such a special occasion.
Final score: Tomarata 46 – 0 Great Barrier Bush Pigs.

CENTENARY WEEKEND - LEGENDS GAME

Thanks to Kelvin Colhurst for reffing the game and Luke Gallagher from Northland Rugby for the epic photos.

The game saw Tomarata and Wellsford Players from all eras take the field and what a great game. Goes to show that it doesnt matter how long since you last laced up the boots, instinct kicks in, competitiveness reigns and that rugby and mates are the winner on the day. Thanks to all the Wellsford boys who came along and supported the day. I see a regular annual fixture in the making.

A huge thank you to Gareth and the team at GT Fencing! They supplied and installed our beautiful new post and rail fence and honestly, what a transformation. Its a bit flash. The attention to detail, including wire along the bottom to keep balls from getting on the road, shows exactly the attention to detail these guys deliver.

This is what community is all about. People giving back and making our little club shine, especially heading into our Centenary weekend. We are so grateful.

Well, we've finally come up for air... and what a Centenary weekend that was!

What an absolute blast. To each and every one of you who came along and showed up for the club, thank you. Celebrating 100 truly remarkable years with our community meant everything.

Seeing the club buzzing like that, the laughs, the smiles, the stories, old mates finding each other again, it was exactly what Tomarata Rugby is all about. And can we just say, the old jackets, polos and shirts that got dusted off for the occasion were an absolute highlight. Nostalgia doesn't even cover it.

The weather was kind to us in most part, holding off till the Saturday evening and at one point we estimated somewhere between 500 and 600 people through the gate, which honestly blew us away.

A massive thank you to our sponsors, photographers, volunteers, players, opposition teams, supporters, life members, speakers, and everyone who travelled far and wide to make the weekend truly special. You are what made it.

Now that we've finally recovered... get ready to be bombarded with photos and thank yous. Where do we even start!

What a fantastic weekend celebrating our 100 Years. Thank you to each and everyone of you who decended on the club and made it truly epic. Hope you all enjoyed yourself.
