Our in-house comp was an awesome way to finish the term — seeing the kids step up, test their skills, and put it all into action on the mats.

🌟 Taylor Vanden Bos 🌟

Taylor has been a dedicated member of Coast Academy since 2022, and her journey has been nothing short of inspiring. From day one, she has shown commitment, discipline, and a strong willingness to learn. 💪

She began her training in our Juniors class and, through consistent hard work and growth, has progressed into the Youth class where she continues to take on tougher challenges. This transition speaks volumes about her development, confidence, and readiness to level up.

Over the years, Taylor has stepped up to compete in both local and national competitions, consistently achieving outstanding results. She doesn’t shy away from challenges and continues to test herself against tough opponents, proving that hard work and perseverance truly pay off.

Her growth on the mats is matched by her confidence and maturity off the mats. Taylor represents everything we stand for at Coast Academy — resilience, respect, and continuous improvement. She is a fantastic role model for our younger students and a true example of what dedication can achieve.

🌟 Annabella Bornhausser 🌟

Annabella began her journey with Coast Academy in 2024 in our Mini Martial Arts class. Starting at just 4 years old, she quickly showed that age and size don’t matter when you have the right technique and mindset. 💪

She consistently challenges herself in sparring and competitions, often going against older, heavier, and more experienced grapplers with impressive success. Her ability to absorb technique and her developing motor skills are incredible to watch. Annabella is definitely one to keep an eye on in the future!

🌟 Student highlight of the Week – Zephyr Tipping 🌟

Zephyr began his journey with Coast Academy back in 2023 — and what a journey it’s been.

Through consistent training, discipline, and heart, Zephyr has grown not only in his skills on the mats but in the way he carries himself every single day. The confidence, focus, and quiet self-belief he now shows is something special to witness. This is what Jiu Jitsu is truly about — building strong kids from the inside out.

A big thank you to his parents, Betsy and Aaron, for investing their time and trust into Zephyr’s journey. The lessons he’s learning now — resilience, respect, and self-defense — are life skills he’ll carry forever.
