We are delighted to announce Jaina 'Jane' Andaya as your .newzealand Beast Run of The Day winner for The Tremor.

Running and finishing her first ever trail event in under 2hrs on what is a challenging 12 kilometre course with over 300m of elevation gain is no easy feat. It was an awesome course to start her trail running journey on, conquering the challenging hills of Te Ahumairangi above Wellington, before being rewarded with the scenic views of parliament, downtown Wellington and the iconic waterfront.

Jane said, "The day was definitely humbling with all the uphills, but also incredibly rewarding. I wasn't able to get the proper trail training I wanted coming into it, mostly just gym workouts and occasional runs, so crossing that finish line felt really special for me."

The Tremor brought a close to the 2026 after 8 exciting events around the country. It's exciting to see trail running continuing to be a fun open and inclusive environment for all, where anyone can take on their own personal goals and achieve them.

Top endurance athlete Katie Wright takes out the .newzealand Beast Run of The Day for the Leki Dozer Line after storming to 2nd place behind Maia Flint.

Wright will be a familiar face to those in the Kiwi ultrarunning community as previous winner of the UTMB Tarawera 100 miler, but has taken on the challenge of some of the shorter distance Kea Series trail events this summer.

Katie said: "I was genuinely stoked to keep Maia in sight for a few km's, it was an awesome day out on a great course and very nice to be done before lunchtime for a change!"

It's been great to see Katie out there racing the unfamiliar shorter stuff and taking 6th in the overall Kea Series standings!
