JESSICA'S TREE
On Monday, March 11 a new web series about su***de is premiering globally. The producers anticipate it will reach numbers of young people comparable to the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. The series is called Jessica's Tree, and is described as an "an insightful and revealing story about what su***de looks like from the inside, from someone looking back out at those wanting to help."

The series has been produced by a young NZ woman named Jazz Thornton who runs the mental health awareness charity Voices of Hope.

The intention of the series is to invite all people to become part of the solution to a complex societal problem.

You can watch the trailer and learn more about Jessica's Tree and Voices of Hope through the link below.

Thanks to Skylight’s partnership with The Warehouse, select Travellers schools in Bay of Plenty, Tairawhiti, Lakes, and Hawke’s Bay regions are invited to take part in a FREE 3 hour hands on training session on ways to use the resilience board game, Getting Stronger.

Each participating school/organisation will receive FREE:

• A Getting Stronger Board Game
• Two Topic card sets that accompany the game (topics include Bullying, Managing Anger, When Parents Break-up, Domestic Violence, Addiction, Mental Illness, Serious Illness or Injury, Bereavement, and Disaster)
• Two packs of Children’s Support booklets (11 booklets per pack)
• 1 pack Youth Pamphlet set (11 Youth pamphlets per pack)

Created by specialists in their field and using evidence based research, Getting Stronger provides a non-threatening environment, encouraging young people to open up about tough issues in their lives and ideas about managing them. The game is designed for youth aged 8 – 14 and helps players to develop important life skills, as they transition from intermediate into secondary school. At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will have played the game and developed facilitation skills to gain the most from Getting Stronger.
