I’ve always been keen to stay fit but often struggled with consistency and motivation. Then my work colleagues convinced me to come to F45 North for a week trial, it was such an enjoyable experience and I signed up immediately. I love that I can just get in for a quick sweat, the work outs are very effective and the coaches are so approachable, supportive and motivating! “My first F45 class was in 2018. I was visiting my sister in Christchurch and she took me along to a Saturday Hollywood class. I’d been running but hadn’t been to a gym for over 15 years so found the class pretty challenging (and there were exercises like box jumps and bench hops I didn’t even attempt) and my body ached (a lot) for days after. But approaching 50 I knew I should be doing more than cardio so back in Wellington I tried out North Wellington and a few other gyms. Decided North Wellington was the better fit for me and now several years later I’m still hooked and training 5 or 6 days a week.

Coaches are fantastic and so very good at setting individual targets to really push you that little bit more, or to spot you so you can give that next weight up a go. And I love being able to go to pretty much any class and find members I know there to have a bit of chat with.

Now mid 50’s, post menopause, and I’m stronger and in better shape than I was in my 30’s and 40’s.

“I have a passion for food, so it’s a must for me to have a gym membership.

I joined F45 when North Wellington first opened its doors, after my knee operations. From being the only one in class in the early days to todays vibrant classes, Joe and the trainers still manage to push me to my limits.

The coaches & members, past & present, have made a big difference to my fitness journey. It is hard to believe at one stage I couldn’t even do a burpee!

Joe tells me I must be the most capped North Welly member and it seems amazing that I have attended over 1000 classes. There is no place I would rather spend my mornings, with the motivation of Julie always at the back of my mind. It has been great to see how far Joe has taken F45 North Wellington. He has created a wonderful community and friendly, caring environment, where everyone is welcome. The only thing that would make my mornings at F45 North Wellington better is some Taylor Swift.”

“I’ve been lucky enough to be part of F45 North Welly for 5 years. I started as an avid member and the F45 addiction naturally flowed into part time coaching on the side of my full time gig as a PE teacher. I find the two roles complement each other really well and it’s great to draw on my previous personal training history in a group fitness setting.

What’s not to love about F45 North Welly? Someone else sets up the gear for you, plans the workout and tells you what to do. All you have to do is show up and do the workout. Sounds easy right?! 🤣 I’ve met some of my best mates at F45 North Welly and the fab community and positivity keeps me coming back as a coach/member. Joe has really created an environment where vibes and energy are always high (even when doing copious amounts of burpees 😅) which makes it such a great place to be part of. I’m grateful to have been able to be part of the North Welly fam for 3 pregnancy journeys and have felt so well supported throughout. In my role as coach I love being able support others on their own fitness journeys and using my experiences to help guide others, as well as having fun while I do so. Let’s be honest I wouldn’t spend so much time at a place I didn’t rave about!!”
