It has arrived - the final weekend of the Capital Football season for VUWAFC, and the final game of the Central League season for our Women's First Team.

An away trip to Waterside Karori awaits - can we grab a win and achieve our outright best points total in the Central League? Do we have one final role to play in deciding who qualifies for the last summer National League?

Get on down to Karori Park for the 12.30pm kickoff and support the team as we attempt to do both those things.

Last weekend saw a gutting end to a strong season from the Men's Firsts. Up 1-0 in the 95th minute, in 3rd place and having done almost certainly enough for promotion in next season's restructuring, we conceded a late equaliser. An 11-1 win for Seatoun elsewhere got them ahead of us by a goal.

Still an excellent season, with no losses in the second round of 9 games.

A win for the men's firsts in their final game of the season would be enough to guarantee a third place finish and likely promotion back to Cap Prem (pending decisions about the effect of the new National League system). A loss could see us drop as far as potentially sixth. A lot on the line, but we're in good form.

The math is simple - to avoid the bottom two, we must win, draw, or lose by no more than four.

The Men's Reserves are away to Naenae this afternoon, kicking off at 2.30pm.

The game doubles as a farewell to Ashad Langdana as he makes his final appearance before heading overseas. The Club thanks Ashad for his contribution over the last few years, across playing and also coaching in our women's programme. All the best Ashad - you will be missed!
