What is a Floorial then?
Floorials are a fun category of moves where something other than your feet touches the floor during the dance. That could be your hand, your knee, both at the same time, or even sitting positions and grounded shapes.
Some examples of floorials are:
A New Yorker to the floor
A step across where the lead touches the floor
The lead dropping to one knee, sitting the follow on knee or walking around them you
Any move where your hand, knee, or body intentionally connects with the floor
Floorials are smooth, can be dramatic, always playful and creative and theyβre not about tricks or breakdancing. Theyβre about controlled, intentional movement that plays with levels and makes your dancing more expressive and dynamic.
