Our member, Abdul, works as a paramedic. His job is built around looking after others, which meant his own health had a habit of coming last.
“As a paramedic, I was always focused on caring for others and often put my own health on the back burner. Joining the gym was my way of investing in myself and becoming healthier, stronger, and more balanced.”
It wasn’t straightforward. Consistency, self-doubt, and old habits that didn’t shift easily. But, after experiencing diabetic ketoacidosis and needing insulin, Abdul knew his lifestyle needed to change. So, regular exercise became a non-negotiable.
“I learned that progress comes from showing up, even on the days you don’t feel like it. Since joining the gym and staying consistent, I’ve come off insulin, and my HbA1c is now in the normal range.”
Everything else followed.
“My mood, sleep, and outlook on life have improved a lot. I have more energy and feel more confident and focused every day. The changes have gone far beyond just fitness.”
And why Anytime Fitness Kent Terrace?
“The friendly staff, welcoming environment, and supportive people are what make the gym stand out. It’s a positive space that makes it easy to stay motivated and consistent.”
Thank you for sharing, Abdul. In doing so, you might have just inspired someone else to make a positive change 🩵
