It’s a new season and as is often the case we have farewelled some of our marchers as they hang up their boots and we have welcomed new marchers to the team.

Two marchers new to our sport, four marchers coming up to senior grade from Under 18 grade and four marchers from last season - three from our foundation year and one startled to find herself identified as an old girl after her first season with the team.

Suffice to say, this is a year of rebuilding for SWIS, and we are working hard. We’ll be introducing the team over the next few weeks - keep an eye out for our new marchers and our new seniors!

Every expert was once a beginner. This season, we build on the legacy together.

I think our preference would always be to start daylight saving at 4pm on a Friday afternoon... 🥂 Somewhere in our history, people 'wiser' than us decreed that we must lose the hour in the early morning instead! ⏰
Daylight saving is upon us, whānau! Don't forget to put your clocks forward 1 hour before you go to bed tonight. Lets hope that once this latest weather blast passes that long, sunny spring evenings will be the new normal ☀️🌿

Kia ora koutou
There have many comments and quesitons about the strong smell of BBQ utensils and Lynx packs across Aotearoa.

We are assured that the smell should settle as dads accross the land put them away with last years stash so we thank you for your understanding until that occurs.

And Happy Fathers Day to all the Fathers and Father figures out there, with special love for our SWIS dads.

With one in three kiwis affected by cancer, we all have someone in our whānau, at our workplace, in our sports team or in our neighbourhood affected by this disease. WE’RE LOOKING FOR A MUSIC TECH 🎶

We’re looking for a volunteer to be our new Music Technician for local competitions!

This could be the perfect role for a parent, partner, family member or supporter of one of our marchers who’d love to get a little more involved behind the scenes.

💛 What does it involve?
You’ll be in charge of playing our music during competitions and working with our Marshall to get our teams moving to the beat 🎶

You don’t need to be a marching expert or DJ — just someone who is reliable, happy to help out and keen to support our sport! Training is provided.
