Labels and names have such a powerful effect on how we view ourselves and how others see us.
They are used to categorise, typecast, and stereotype people and can have far-reaching implications for how we interact with one another. Even the profession we have and the title we hold become labels that people judge us by and can influence our self-image, our behaviour, and how others perceive us.
If you are a people-person for example, but work in the Engineering or Accounting industry, people may have a wrong perception of who you are, and categorise you by what you do rather than who you truly are.
Drop the labels.
Talk to people.
Take the time to really get to know the person in front of you.
