Mahurangi Junior Rugby Club Welcome to the Mahurangi Junior Rugby Club.

We are a grassroots rugby club with a strong and supportive committee and community; representing players from ages 4 - 13 throughout the Mahurangi area and affiliated with the North Harbour Rugby competition.

A HUGE congratulations to our incredible U10 team who travelled to Taupō to compete in the Global Games 2026! 🦁🔥

5 games. 5 massive wins. UNDEFEATED!

DAY 1
Mahu vs Karaka | WIN 20–0
Mahu vs Kia Toa | WIN 50–25

DAY 2
Mahu vs Taupō | WIN 35–15
Mahu vs Hamilton Old Boys | WIN 25–10

DAY 3
Mahu vs Ngatapa | WIN 55–15

What an incredible weekend from this group of boys. They played their hearts out across all three days and left absolutely everything on the field. Their teamwork, determination, sportsmanship and commitment to one another was something everyone involved can be incredibly proud of.

A massive thank you and congratulations to Ariki, Craig, Tammy and Simon for the coaching and team management throughout the weekend. The time, preparation, energy and commitment you put into these boys certainly showed on the field. Five games across three days is no small effort, and the way the team performed is a huge reflection of the work happening behind the scenes.

And of course, none of it happens without the amazing families supporting the team. Thank you for all the travelling, cheering, organising, water-bottle filling, shoelace tying, early starts and everything else that goes into making a weekend like this possible.

Just a little glimpse of an unforgettable weekend in Taupō for our U10/11’s 🦁🔥

Both teams. 5 games. 5 wins. UNDEFEATED.

But the Global Games 2026 was about so much more than the scoreboard.

Three days of rugby, teamwork, laughs, friendships and memories with an incredible bunch of boys. They represented Mahurangi with everything they had, and we couldn’t be prouder of them.

🏉 MAHU U11s | Global Games | NZ Junior Rugby Festival 2026 Taupō | Mahurangi Junior Rugby Club 🏉

🏆GLOBAL GAMES CHAMPIONS OF FESTIVAL🏆

A first for Mahurangi Junior Rugby Club, accumulating the highest overall score of all 138 teams from 73 clubs across NZ, Australia and the USA. 🙌

The team played hard all weekend, taking out solid wins. Global Games points system rewards how you play and how you carry yourselves, alongside those final scores. Respect, fair play and backing your teammates is the Mahu Way, and this group lived it all weekend.

We’re very proud of these boys. Huge congratulations to:

Cole, Seb, Max, Carter, Ben, Ryder, Brax, Luca, Kadyn, Will, Bryden, Taylor, Lukah, Elliot and Jack

🏆 CHAMPIONS IN TAUPŌ! 🏆

What an absolute powerhouse of a weekend for our Mahurangi U11 Girls Rippa team at the Global Games in Taupō! 💙🤍

Our girls went 5 from 5, scoring an incredible 75 tries and conceding just 5 across the entire tournament! 🔥

But as impressive as those numbers are, the weekend was about so much more than what happened on the scoreboard.

The girls played with heart, backed each other from start to finish and showed outstanding sportsmanship both on and off the field. They made new friends, smashed the team bonding activities and created some pretty special memories along the way.

And to top it all off… they came home with the Championship Trophy for their grade! 🏆🙌

An unforgettable weekend celebrating girls’ rugby and everything we love about the game.

We couldn’t be prouder of this crew! 💙🤍

And after a weekend like that, we’re already excited to see even more Mahu heading to Taupō this weekend and next year!
