Joined the TC ski patrol for some chair evac training today. The new snow looks awesome, fingers crossed for opening weekend.

Some winter training last weekend in the form of a couple of days in Aspiring National Park. 6hrs bike and then walk/scramble to French ridge hut on day one followed by a 12hr day 2 mission up to Quarterdeck pass before heading home.

Out for a quick ski tour at Coronet Peak this morning. Quite good cover considering we haven’t had much snow yet. Followed the M1 trail to the top and skied back down. Nice to get up the hill in the sun shine and cold temps! Joys of winter!!

Hello and welcome to NZ winter 2020 and my new guiding page, the plan is to keep it updated with all my upcoming courses, trip availability and info.

Currently we are waiting on the snow and looking to kick off with some awesome ski touring and avalanche safety courses as soon as it arrives.

The local resorts have been pumping man made snow for the last few days and there's snow in the forecast so fingers crossed for a good start to the season.
