🏐National Volunteer Week is Aotearoa New Zealand’s largest annual celebration of volunteering. This week is an opportunity to recognise, celebrate, and appreciate the millions of volunteers who enrich Aotearoa New Zealand.

The Giving in Aotearoa NZ Survey found that 75% of New Zealanders gave their time in the past year: formally, informally, or both.
Data shows that people volunteer because community matters to them, and because showing up is how they live that out. Many of today’s volunteers are seeking roles that align with their personal values.

Did you know that if you're in the correct position and ready to take the throw-in, you can play the ball immediately? There is no requirement to wait for all players to return to the court before restarting play.

✔️ Be in the correct position
✔️ Have the ball ready to play
✔️ Restart play promptly when able

Understanding this rule helps keep the game flowing, reduces unnecessary delays, and ensures everyone can enjoy a fast and fair game experience.

She started volunteering at 16, the youngest in the room. 💪

At 22, Tyler Campbell is Vice President of Junior Clubs at Waiuku Netball Centre, runs the FutureFERNS programme, coaches a college side AND umpires every Saturday, all while working full time and finishing a degree.

Her philosophy? “How can we make this a yes?”
