When Charlie first arrived at Evie's after having his initial training at Noas, he took some time to adjust. Some days, everything was fine, while other days, she could barely stand in the paddock with him without him becoming overwhelmed and grumpy. But he has always been so brave when facing new things. There hasn’t been a single time Evie asked him a question and he has said no.
They took a few weeks to slowly get to know each other, Evie had to learn to adjust her training techniques to suit what he was comfortable with. Once they developed more of an understanding of each other, there really wasn’t much he couldn’t do. He is a sensitive boy, and pressure can easily set him off, so to back him, Evie knew she had to take things very slowly. They only went at a pace he was comfortable with, and now it’s really starting to pay off.
He has been to progressive jumping days, ba****ck hacks, cross-country, indoor arenas and so much more! It’s hard to believe that only six months ago he was wild. There’s nothing he can’t do that all Evie's other horses are already doing.
He’s always going to have his cheeky personality, but he tries his heart out. He has come so far, and Evie is extremely grateful to have a pony like him.
