35 years of Tysons netball — and this season, history is being made.

Ngā Manu Tōroa is Tysons’ first ever official men’s team as part of the new pilot men’s league.

For many involved, this moment has been decades in the making, with some players contributing to men’s netball for over 40 years. Their experience, leadership and passion are now helping shape and inspire the next generation of local talent.

A legacy begins 💙

Our season is well underway, and the team at Greg Brien Physiotherapy have already been hard at work 🙌

Several of our Premier players have already benefited from the expert care and support provided by the team at Greg Brien Physiotherapy this season, helping keep our athletes healthy, recovering well, and out on court doing what they love. 💙

We’re incredibly grateful to have Greg Brien Physiotherapy back on board supporting Tysons again this year. Their professionalism, knowledge, and genuine care for our players makes such a difference throughout the season, and we truly value the support they provide to our club.

As always, we’d love our Tysons whānau to help show them some support too — whether that’s booking in for treatment, recommending them to friends and family, or giving their page a follow online. Supporting the local businesses that support our club means the world! 👏

🌧️ Whānau Day Update 🌧️

We’re really disappointed to share this, but due to the current Orange weather warning and forecast winds of around 40km/h, we’ve made the decision to postpone Whānau Day tomorrow.

As much as we were looking forward to bringing everyone together, the safety of our whānau comes first, and unfortunately the weather isn’t on our side this time.

👕 Uniform Collection will still go ahead, with a shortened timeframe so everyone can get home safely before conditions worsen:
🕛 12:00 – 1:30pm

Thank you so much for your understanding and flexibility — we truly appreciate it 💙

We can’t wait to come together and celebrate properly in much better weather soon!

14/04/2026

We’re running a fundraiser to support our upcoming Whānau Day. All funds raised will go towards making the day extra special for our tamariki — with awesome spot prizes, yummy kai, games, Mr Whippy 🍦 and so much more!

First year together.
Played up in the U20 Reserve Grade.
B Grade Finalists.

An outstanding campaign from Ngā Manu Tōrea.

Competing against older, more experienced teams, this group showed real heart and hustle. They grew with every game, building strong connections and backing themselves when it mattered most.

To reach a national final in their first year as an U17 side is a huge achievement, and a reflection of the work this group has put in.

We’re incredibly proud of our players, coaches, and whānau who supported them every step of the way.

This is just the beginning.

Go Blue 💙

3rd place | U20 A Grade

A huge campaign from our Under 20s.

Competing at the highest level in the A Grade, this group showed consistency, composure, and quality across the week. To finish 3rd in a tough national field is a result we’re incredibly proud of.

They set the standard for our club at Men’s Nationals, leading with experience, discipline, and belief, representing Tysons Waitara with pride.

Massive credit to our players, coaches, and whānau for the work behind this performance.

After a tense, hard-fought opening, our U17s stepped up in a massive way, delivering an outstanding performance to take down Howick Pakuranga 48–35.

From the first whistle, the intensity was high, but our boys lifted, dominated, and proved they belong on the big stage.

The U20s game was an absolute battle.
Lead changes, momentum swings, and pressure moments defined the match. In the end, Kirikiriroa (Hamilton) managed to edge ahead in the final quarter, taking the win by 5.

That result sees our U20s finish 3rd for the second consecutive year — a huge achievement and a testament to their consistency and grit.

Now all eyes turn to the GRAND FINAL 🔥

Our Super Under 17s are set to face unbeaten grade favourites Manawatū tomorrow in what promises to be an epic showdown.

And history has already been made…
We’re celebrating our first-ever finals appearance at New Zealand Men’s Nationals! 💙
