Coastguard Tautiaki Moana is the charity saving lives on the water. We’re on a mission to help Kiwis get the best out of their time on the water, safely and with confidence.

Coastguard delivers education throughout New Zealand as well as providing a search and rescue service for when emergencies strike.

Across the motu, more than 2,000 Coastguard volunteers are ready to jump into action 24/7 to save lives on the water. They are the people going out when everyone else is coming in.

Our volunteers bring home 17 people safely to their families every day. One day it could be you.

After the success of the first-ever Big Swim in July 2024, Coastguard will once again be asking New Zealanders to take to their local pool whilst raising money to help keep Kiwis safe on the water.

The next Big Swim will take place in June 2025 and it’s super easy for participants to take part, all you need to do is Register, Fundraise and Swim.

What is a Partner Pool? Everyone who registers to take on the Big Swim and raises at least $100 will receive a wristband. This wristband entitles participants to SWIM FOR FREE at the Wairoa Community Centre or any Partner Pools throughout June 2025.

There are 50 Partner Pool Registered throughout New Zealand and the Wairoa Community Centre is one of them.

All you need to do is scan the bar code or come to the Centre and scan the bar code of one of our posters and follow the instructions then start getting your sponsorship. If anyone needs any help please ask at the Centre, we will be happy to help.

You can join as an individual or a team or business.

Week 5 of our lunch time fitness classes done and dusted, the ladies put in the extra mahi today with circuit training and finished with a partner core workout, we will run 1 more class next week Wednesday midday $5 for the session, if you’re free pop down to the Centre and come join in 🔥💪🏼
