Off season training and what that could look like. Early into the off season could be a good time to let the body heal. A holiday could be on the cards.
Next I would look to dial back on cardio sessions to maybe once or twice a week in early off season. I would focus more on building overall muscle, increasing strength and explosiveness. Work on flexibility and eating a bit more than usual.
About half way into off season I would start dialing in a bit more adding an extra cardio/conditioning day into my workout. Like a 3 day strength/explosiveness 3 day cardio/conditioning. This could also be a good time to work on some weaknesses in my game I noticed from the previous season. I would start looking to cut back on eating as well to hit my ideal weight.
And lastly 2 months out im all in,looking to hit my peak fitness level, focused and excited to start team training. I'd look at cardio, conditioning and technique as my primary goal. Any weight lifting sessions would be done as maintenance only rather than bulking.
Having an off season plan can be the difference in having an awesome season or s**t season next year.
That's what I would have done if I was still playing sport. What's your plan of action this off season have you gotta plan or are you winging it.
