The first Barry Cup challenge is set for this Sunday.

Whakarua Park, Ruatoria

Bring your whānau, friends and supporters for a Sunday drive to tautoko our Wairoa Squad up the coast. The bus will be leaving Athletic 7:00am.

Challenge date has been confirmed for the Barry Cup 2026. Wairoa have the first crack we will travel to Ruatoria on Sunday 16 August to try and return the cup home.

Here is the 2026 squad with players of Origin to be added, congratulations to everyone who has been selected.

Training starts this Thursday 6:00pm at Athletic, please turn up ready to go by 6:00pm.

📢 Interested in getting involved in rugby in a new way?

We’re looking for people to referee JAB U12 and U13 games this season. Referees are paid $25 per game, and anyone with a good knowledge of rugby is encouraged to give it a go.

ℹ️This introductory session will cover the key laws of the game, positioning, communication, and game management, giving you the confidence to take the field as a referee. The course is practical, beginner-friendly, and a great way to stay involved in rugby. No refereeing experience is required – just bring yourself and a willingness to learn.

Course needs a minimum of 6 people to be run.
