🏐 Wairoa Netball – Umpire Clinic Interest 🏐

Kia ora koutou,

Wairoa Netball is looking at organising an Umpire Clinic here in Wairoa with Anthony Karauria, and we are wanting to see who would be interested 👏

This would be a great opportunity for:
✅ Beginner umpires
✅ Current umpires wanting to build confidence
✅ Players wanting to learn the rules better
✅ Anyone keen to support umpiring in Wairoa netball

Possible session options:
📍 Friday evening
📍 Early Saturday morning before senior netball starts

Could clubs, teams and individuals please comment below or message the page with:
• Your interest
• Preferred session time
• Approximate numbers attending

We’re really keen to continue growing and supporting our local umpires across all grades

Please find attached the draw for Saturday 13th June 2026. We’re looking forward to another great day of netball across our Wairoa courts.

Duty Team: Tapuae & Tiaho School

Duty Team Responsibilities

Set Up:
• Goal pads on Courts 1–4
• Place rubbish bins at each light post
• Set up portable goals
• Put out tables and bench seats between the adult courts

Pack Down:
• All equipment to be returned inside
• Rubbish to be collected from courts, carpark, and surrounding grass areas
• Toilets to be checked and cleaned

🏐 Wairoa Netball – Important Season Reminders 🏐

As we head into another awesome weekend of netball, Wairoa Netball would like to remind everyone that we are all kaitiaki of our courts and community spaces.
✅ Please support our players, coaches and umpires positively
❌ Poor sideline behaviour, abuse or misconduct will not be tolerated
📞 Serious concerns can be reported to WN, WDC or Police if required

Our paid umpires are here to support our competition and deserve respect from everyone on and off the courts.

Uniform Reminder:
• All Open teams must wear matching uniforms
• Long sleeves are only permitted if part of the full team uniform or for approved medical reasons

We are also still looking for clubs or teams interested in running the WN BBQ fundraiser shop during the season 🌭

Let’s continue working together to keep Wairoa Netball a safe, positive and enjoyable environment for all our tamariki, rangatahi and pakeke.

What a whirlwind of a day, four seasons in one and our girls hit the courts in full force! ☁️🌧️☀️

They may be a new team, but they played like they’ve been together their whole lives. 💚🖤

But most of all, congratulations to every single one of our girls. You showed up for your team, your whānau, your supporters, your clubs, your schools, and your whole region. We came in looking to grow our skills and gain experience and winning was the most incredible bonus! 🏆

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support us, who sheltered us, fed us, and have backed us every step of the way. We appreciate everything. 🙏🏼

Te Wairoa Rangatahi APAI Netball Tournament Team 2026

Wairoa Ranagtahi attended The Aotearoa Poitarawhiti a Iwi (APAI) Netball Tournament over King's Birthday weekend, in Taupo. The tournament is a mixed open tournament featuring players from all over New Zealand, some current New Zealand Men's and current New Zealand mixed representatives.

Our Wairoa Rangatahi played on Friday and Saturday going up against some of New Zealand's top players. They made the finals on Sunday, coming runner up in their grade.

They walked away with the overall Sportmanship Award for the tournament as well as the top umpire award, going to their coach Luana Tahuri.

Two players from The Wairoa Rangtahi team were selected to play in an exhibition match. They were Elana Tahuri and Te Whakamoemiti Tipuna.

It was a successful weekend for the Wairoa Ranagtahi team, already securing their next tournament place in Hamilton in July.

• We encourage each team to have a scorer present at the score table
• All communication or pātai must go through your school or club rep, who can then contact WN via Facebook or email
• Rules and regulations will be available at the control table on game day.
