Please feel free to send any photos through of Westlake Football teams in action Westlake Boys High School is a large all boys school based in Auckland, New Zealand which has built a tradition of sporting achievement throughout Auckland and New Zealand. The Westlake Football Programme wants to identify and develop players who demonstrate Respect, Resilience, Leadership, Growth Mindset and Skillful

ness. We aim to create a unique culture where players are nurtured into the ‘Westlake Football Way’ of discipline, work ethic and team spirit in every aspect of their Football and other areas of their lives. We have a large number of students playing the sport at school and consistently have 25-30 (over 400 players) teams playing across all grades and all age groups. We have had significant success throughout all of the grades we play in, including National Championships, Knock-Out Cups and League titles. Competitions we are involved in;

1st XI and Junior Premier National Competitions – New Zealand
1st XI & 2nd XI Premier League (Senior) – Auckland wide
15th Grade (Year 11) – Auckland wide and North Harbour
14th Grade (Year 10) – Auckland wide and North Harbour
13th Grade (Year 9) – Auckland wide and North Harbour
Auckland Knockout Cup – played midweek
Senior Friday League (Year 12 & 13) – Played at WBHS & WGHS
Junior Midweek League (Year 10 & 11) – Played at WBHS

Huge congratulations to Charlie Hodgetts who was selected and travelled to Australia during the holidays in the New Zealand Secondary Schools Under 19 team!

Charlie and the team went undefeated in their tour with wins over Bellcannon United, Hills United, NSW Talented Sports Program and a 2-2 draw with the Australian Secondary Schools team!

Westlake Football is pleased to announce Callum Simmonds as our new 1st XI Head Coach.

Callum brings plenty of experience and a proven track record of great results in football coaching and development, making him an exciting addition to the Westlake community.

Callum has been a top coach in New Zealand football for nearly a decade. He currently serves as the Football Development Manager at East Coast Bays AFC, where he has been shaping the next generation of players since 2021. Alongside this role, Callum has been the TDP Head Coach at East Coast Bays AFC since 2019, overseeing elite player development.

We are thrilled to have Callum join the Westlake Football family. His expertise, leadership, and passion for the game will undoubtedly inspire our players and continue to build on the strong footballing tradition at Westlake.

After two years as Head Coach of our 1st XI Football team, Dave Wright has decided to step down from his role.

Dave's dedication, passion, and leadership have been instrumental in the teams success, contributing to both Auckland and National titles during this time. He's not only developed the players on the field but also instilled values of teamwork, discipline, and commitment which have made a difference to all players that he has coached.

Dave has had a huge impact on our programme and he will be sorely missed but we are looking forward to having Dave involved in other capacities at the school in 2025.
