CHB Dog Training Club CHBDTC is Central Hawkes Bays premier dog training club (we're the only one!!). We're hoping to post pics and updates from competitions and training.

All at Russell Park, Waipukurau Our basic obedience class is based on 'clicker training' which also carries on into the Foundation Agility classes and further. We compete in dog Agil

ity, Jumpers, Flygility, a bit of Rally O and there may even be some misguided souls attempting obedience. Nothing too serious mind!! AFTER the general obedience course you may like to join the club and start yours and your dogs agility journey. We all start with Foundation One which covers the foundation requirements we need to teach us some of the basic handling skills required to run a course. This is followed by Foundation Two where we start to use these basics into small agility grids. Next will come Starters Agility, an introduction into small agility courses, followed by the Novice Class where the learning will continue and we start to run full courses ready to start competing. Last night a few club members attended our annual Mid Winter Dinner at Skinny Mulligan's in Waipawa.
Our current President Kay Griffiths presented Dogs NZ 25year badges to those eligible who were present.
Congrats to Kristina Beresford, Wendy and Richard Holmes, and Julie Goodwin. Wendy, Richard and Julie have been members of DNZ since the late 1980's!!!!
Also eligible are Jill Payne and Carey Wilman who were unable to be with us at the dinner.
Whew that's a while folks to be involved with an organisation for that long!

Our Firewood raffle was drawn today, by the random number generator method. Isobel who pushed that final button is one of our judges and has come all the way up from Christchurch to judge at out Jumpers show this weekend.
Well done Anita from New World. She is understandably super happy :)

A good weekend at Wairarapa 7/8 Feb. Lots of faulted runs but great work from all the dogs. And the weather played ball too.
