Local Junior Football is all set to start tomorrow at 9am at Russell Park, looking forward to another great season!

We have some amazing local businesses supporting us for our coaches choices awards this year! We are so very lucky to have such generous support from New World Waipukurau for our 7-8 and 9-12 aged teams and from Stella's Cafe for our 4 - 6 year old group!

Please support these amazing community focussed businesses as much as you can to show how grateful our CHB Junior Football Club whanau are for their help!!

We have a different field layout for this season, so please have a review the diagram to make sure you get to the right area of Russell Park.

We will be distributing CHB Junior Football Club shirts for the 4-6 and 7-8 grades tomorrow (9-12 grade shirts will be handed out in a couple of weeks). Please remember that these shirts have been very generously donated by Centralines and we need to have them returned at the end of the season so the next season of footballers get to enjoy playing in them.

If any child that attended training today is missing a pair of shoes, there was a pair left behind in a Powerade bag. Please message us to arrange getting them back :)

Just a reminder that we have a boot swap planned for tomorrow at 3:30 at Russell Park. Will be followed by a kick around for the kids and a meet and greet for any parents that are there. We expect the kick around to finish at around 4:30

For all of the players that purchased the shorts and socks combo when they registered, these are available at Pure Sports and Leisure Waipukurau from Tuesday morning.

If you didn’t purchase these at registration time there are a few extra sets so please purchase these in store.

Finally, pure sports and leisure have shin pads available for sale. Football NZ mandates that all players must wear shin pads so please support local and purchase yours from our great local sports shop in Waipukurau!

Thanks to all that have registered for the season, we are working through making teams and will be in touch in the next week or so with how things look.

For those that have ordered the shorts and socks combo, these will be ordered and made available at Pure Sports and Leisure in Waipukurau before the season starts. We will contact people that have ordered socks and shorts when the stock has arrived.

We are also planning a boot swap and a kick around for an hour or so on Wednesday 29 April at 3:30pm at Russell Park. Please come along with last seasons boots if you would like to swap these for other second hand boots.

Registration for CHB Junior Football in 2026 is now open, all children 4 years and older are welcome to register for Saturday morning football.

Children aged 4-6 will have skill-based activities and a game, all other players will play games against other teams each weekend. The season will begin on 9th May 2026 at 9am, registration for local football close on April 10th 2026. All local games are at Russell Park in Waipukurau.

Those students who would like to play competitively, across Hawkes Bay, can enter their names for consideration for our Intercity team(s) up to Friday 20 March. We have chosen to partner with Hastings Hibernian Sports Club for intercity football which will provide a great pathway to further age grade and senior football for CHB players. Students must be Year 6+. Parents should expect to travel to Napier and Hastings at least 50% of the time for games. Practice will take place during the week at Russell Park. Intercity games begin on May 2nd 2026, registrations for intercity should be completed ASAP to confirm team entry to the Hawkes Bay competition.
