Thanks to everyone for coming out tonight to help us remember and celebrate Memphis. I know his whanau appreciated it and felt the love we have for him.
It was great to see so many of our past riders and their families there too, catching up and sharing stories.
You might have heard of the “BMX family”, and with all the training, travel and racing it’s easy to lose sight of what that means. Tonight in remembering Memphis, we got to reconnect, reflect, laugh, shed a tear or two and come together as part of that big family again. Thanks Memphis, we’ll miss you bro.

We'll run the gate from 10am Sunday in lieu of a club day this weekend. There are lots of regulars away at Norths, so unlikely to be enough for racing, and not enough volunteers for Have A Go.

Update from the family on Memphis’ Journey Home:

Memphis will be travelling home with whānau today, leaving Whangārei in the morning. He is expected to arrive late in the evening and will be resting at 16 Meremere Street, Wainuiomata.

From Wednesday morning, our home will be open to anyone who would like to come by and pay their respects.

Poroporoaki will be held on Thursday evening at 6pm.

Memphis's service will take place on Friday 24th, 11am at Haven Falls, Wainuiomata, followed by burial at Whenua Tapu at 3pm.

There will be light refreshments offered at Haven Falls.

After the burial, we welcome whānau and friends back to 16 Meremere Street for hakari.
