💫Don’t let the stern look fool you. Dylan’s actually having a great time…..and now that his presidency has come to an end, he’ll have a little more time to simply enjoy the game.

Over the past two years, Dylan has been at the centre of some of the biggest moments in our club’s history. As President, he’s generously given his time, shared his ideas and put in countless hours behind the scenes to help take Waimate Disc Golf Club from strength to strength.

His time as President has seen our first-ever South Island Masters tournament become a reality, the Knottingley Giants continue to grow each year, and the New Zealand Disc Golf Championships come to Waimate. He also played a major role in the installation of tee pads and the redesign of the Victoria Park course, creating improvements that our members and visitors will enjoy for many years to come.

Leadership in a volunteer club is often about the work that nobody sees, and Dylan has never been afraid to roll up his sleeves and get stuck in. Whether it was planning events, improving our courses or helping wherever he was needed, he’s always led by example.
Although Dylan’s term as President has come to an end, we’re lucky that he’s not going anywhere. He’ll continue to be an important part of our club, and we’re looking forward to seeing him enjoy a few more rounds without quite as much to organise.

🙌🏻From everyone at Waimate Disc Golf Club, thank you, Dylan. Your dedication, leadership and friendship have helped shape our club, and we can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve contributed over the past two years.

Life Membership is the highest honour any
Club can bestow and recognises
outstanding service and commitment over many years. Peter has been a driving force behind the development and success of disc golf in Waimate, contributing countless hours to the Club, events, course development, and the growth of the sport both locally and nationally.

This recognition reflects Peter's dedication, leadership, and passion for creating opportunities for others to enjoy disc golf and for helping establish Waimate as one of New Zealand's premier disc golf destinations.

🌧️ Due to the recent heavy rainfall, Knottingley Park is currently very wet underfoot.

To help protect the course and avoid unnecessary damage, we recommend playing at Victoria Park until conditions have had a chance to dry out.

We’ll keep an eye on things over the coming days and will let everyone know as soon as Knottingley is back in good playing condition.

🥏 Age Protected Pro Divisions are now open!

Whether you’re chasing a South Island Masters Games medal, a personal best, or simply looking forward to a fantastic weekend of disc golf, now’s the time to secure your place at the South Canterbury Masters.

This year, Pro divisions will compete under the same format as Amateur divisions, with all players competing for South Island Games medals. There is no cash payout, making it a true competition for pride, podiums and the title.

💰 Entry fees:
• Early Bird (ends 30 June): $55 + $20 Disc Golf NZ fee
• 1 July – 31 August: $75 + $20 Disc Golf NZ fee
• 1 September – 18 September: $110 + $20 Disc Golf NZ fee

There are no qualification requirements beyond age, so if you’re eligible, you’re in. Whether you’re aiming for gold, catching up with friends, or soaking up the atmosphere, we’d love to see you on the course.
