Just a reminder to club members and any other helpers regarding the working bee this Sunday at 9.00. We have pruned a lot of trees already so will need plenty of manpower.

Please bring chain saws etc if you can as well as trailers to pick up the small debris. There are also plenty of smaller branches suitable for firewood that will not need splitting so come along to help to make light work of the day so you can get home early afternoon to catch up with family on Mother’s Day.

B***s & Bashers Ambrose Tournament, in support of the Breast Cancer Society. The event will be held at the Putaruru Golf Course on 22nd May 2026, and we’re really looking forward to bringing the community together for such an important cause.

Breast cancer affects thousands of Kiwi families every year, but early detection and strong community support truly save lives. Getting involved—whether through donating, volunteering, or simply showing up—helps make a real difference across New Zealand.

We’ve had an awesome response from local businesses supporting us with food, prizes, and items for raffles and auctions, and we’re incredibly grateful for that support.

Now, we’d love to see more teams on the course!

Tirau Lions Club Tournament

The Putaruru Golf Club in association with the Tirau Lions will be hosting a 4 Person Team Ambrose Tournament on Saturday June 6th with a shotgun start at 9.00am.

All proceeds will go to the Tirau Lions Club Charitable Trust serving the Putaruru and Tirau communities. Please get your team in early and support this great fundraiser.

Congratulations to Tieke Golf Estate our 2026 Men's Championship Pennants Division 1 winners.

The course was looking stunning and was ready for some exceptional golf from the Division 1 players and they didn't disappoint.

Tieke on their home course came out of the block running with wins to Blair, Matthew and Jefferson to have 3 points secured early, and with James Fellow-Ford adding the fourth it was a 5-1 victory over the Whangamata 1 team with Rob Peart getting the point for the team, it was an amazing come back for Whangamata who in 2025 were in the relegation match, so a huge turn around for a great club.

The other semi-final had Raglan 1 up against Putaruru 1 team looking to go one better than last years 2nd place.

With Dan Hakes a late call up to play getting the win early it was looking good, but the Putaruru team rallied to win the next four matches and win 4-2 and head to the Grand-Final match.

Once again Blair, Matthew and Jefferson had Tieke on the board early with wins, but Gavin and Matt pulling back 2 points for Putaruru it cam down to the number 1's to decide the final. With both players going under the card it was a close match with Isaac Steel securing the final point on the 17th hole against Dan Crook it meant a 4-2 win for the home team.

From all the team at Waikato Golf a big congratulations to our Men's Division 1 champions.

💥 Junior Coaching is Back! 💥

Starting this Sunday 8th March, we're excited to announce a fresh approach with two tailored groups to unlock every young golfer's potential. 🔥

Ages 8-13 will meet from 9:30am-11:00am, while ages 14-18 will gather from 11:30am-1pm - if you're under 14 with a handicap, you're welcome to join this session. ⛳️

Whether you're new to golf or looking to improve, everyone is invited to come and experience it for themselves. No membership or prior experience required - we provide all the gear and it's completely free! 🙏
