Kapiti Sport Kapiti Sport is dedicated to promoting all sports on the Kapiti Coast. We also work to help secure

Kapitisport.co.nz was established to achieve some very important goals to help our local sports prosper and grow through providing a service and marketing platform that assists all clubs that would like help. Our goals are to work with Kapiti sporting clubs and provide them the tools to operate efficiently and effectively and help them improve significantly in the following major areas;

• Fundraising

We will achieve this by establishing an outsourced support environment based on two main components

• A dedicated team happy to assist all Kapiti based clubs that need the support.
• State of the art technology designed to help clubs communicate well and attract both sponsorship and advertising revenues. Our support services are available to all Kapiti sporting organisations that wish to take advantage of the support and leverage our project can provide. The costs of running Kapiti Sport are being funded directly by local sponsors and advertisers wishing to connect with our local sporting community and the profits of this venture will be shared with the sporting organisations we are working with. A te reo Māori expert who lights up the ‘gram with discussions of humour and idioms in te reo will join Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington as their first Professor of te reo Māori in late July.

Professor Hona Black (Tūhoe, Te Whānau a Apanui, Te Whakatōhea me Ngāti Tūwharetoa) is an esteemed academic, and a wellknown advocate for the revitalisation of te reo Māori. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this role, reflecting his lifelong commitment to advancing Māori language and education throughout Aotearoa.
