The Gold and Surf triples challenge was successfully hosted by Waihi on a lovely day. Throughout the competition, teams actively engaged in banter while accumulating points. Following the conclusion of the event, a delightful afternoon tea was provided by the Waihi members. The final tally showed Waihi at 166 pts. and Waihi Beach at 207pts. The trophy which has been showcased in their new clubrooms was presented to Waihi Beach. We forward to hosting Waihi next season.

OK some members burst out laughing when I said Dave was doing a marathon, quite understandable after the last 12 months but he will do it easy. Only has to walk 1.4kms a day. Technology is amazing, he now has a pacemaker and his own defibrillator in his chest which sends a report every night to Boston USA and if there is a problem a red flag is sent to Tauranga hospital. Yep pretty amazing.
Don't forget to have regular health check ups and look after your own health-care
Bowls is a great way to exercise. See you on the green.

The season's concluding tournament fulfilled expectations, despite the green being somewhat soft after yesterday's waterlogging, it still managed to roll quickly. Athenree Life Care residents actively participated and enjoyed trying their hand at bowls. We appreciate Athenree Life Care's continued sponsorship of our classic tournament. The tournament format included six one-hour games, with fours played at the start and end of the day and pairs, singles, and triples in between. Local team Devon topped the competition with 5.5 wins, followed closely by Matua with 5 wins and Whangamata with 4.5 wins. President Peter thanked members for their hard work and dedication throughout the season, highlighting the club's dependence on their efforts. A team of members will undertake green renovations tomorrow to prepare for the next season. If the green's condition allows, we may host winter rollups in the upcoming weeks, and Adrian will keep us informed. Take care, stay healthy, and we look forward to seeing you all again soon.
