One year ago today, we represented New Zealand against Australia in a sport they are world champions in - surf boats. With the support of a home crowd and some pain we raised to the challenge in a 3 race test series to bring home the win on the final race, winning 2 - 1. Being the first kiwi women's crew to beat the Aussies.

A year on, we are all on different adventures - Carmel is training for Ironman, Erin is back to 'flat water' rowing, Charlotte is traveling around Europe and Sarah an expectant mother, while Rob true to form is back in the boat. I'm sure one day each of us will be back in a boat.

It's nationals time. Short course heats tomorrow. Long course heats on sat. Followed by the semis and finals for each on Sunday. Surf forecast is looking good for surf so some good spectating is guaranteed.

Wow it came down to the final race in the test series to see who would take it out. The kiwis or Aussies. Proud to say it was the kiwis who fought all the way that managed to take the win. A tough race and great competition.

Mairangi Bay's mighty female surf boat crew ensured New Zealand pride was restored at the Trans-Tasman Challenge at a sun-drenched Waihi Beach today.

Another weekend of racing and the final trial for NZ selection. We are pleased to announce we have been selected to be NZ reps for the 2nd year running. We are to compete against Aussie's tip women's crew in 2 weeks time at Waihi.

Well the first Boat Series race has been and gone. We made good improvements through out each race to make it through to the final with four wins out of four. Unfortunately the final didn't go our way with a bad start, two rowers overboard at another point and a broach.

Onwards and upwards they say. This weekend we are racing at Whangamata where we can make amends.
