Well done Kent on achieving your full Advanced Certificate today in PFL. Your CFI tells me the wx was a tad challengingโ€ฆ very low cloud in the circuit and a convenient higher hole enabling full flight testing. Well done! Great work ๐Ÿ˜Ž

After a stretch of rubbish weather, it was good to see the field come back to life.

Last weekend Kylah got back into it and clocked up some more solo time. great to see the confidence growing and the hours building ๐Ÿ‘Œ

This weekend David and Wayne both stepped it up, working through stalls, slow flight, rejoins and circuits. Busy airspace at times, but that just adds to the learning.

The skydivers were making the most of it, the gliders were out playing, and we had a couple of classics drop in, Tim in the Tiger Moth and Marty in the Waco. Hard to beat that lineup on a decent day.

This is what the club is all about, students progressing, aircraft flying, and the field humming.

Busy airfield again this week, great to see ๐Ÿ‘

Last Sunday was another cracker at the club, with plenty happening on and around the field.

We had a visit from a fantastic mix of aircraft, including Marty dropping in with his Waco, along with a couple of classic Tiger Moths that always turn a few heads.

It was also a big day for Lisa and Joel, with their new aircraft โ€“ a Minstrel โ€“ arriving up from Nelson. They were more than happy to take the keys and get acquainted with their new pride and joy.

Our gliding neighbours were equally busy, with the National Gliding Championships kicking off. A great line-up of neatly parked gliders and several tow aircraft made for an impressive sight, even if the weather wasnโ€™t always playing ball. Fingers crossed they still managed to get some good flying and plenty of enjoyment out of it.

Great to see the airfield so active and buzzing with life.

What a great weekend of flying at Matamata Aero Club.

We were treated to some excellent weather, and the gliders made the most of it with the National Gliding Championships taking place โ€“ making for a busy and lively airfield.

Both instructors were flat out, which was no surprise after a few weeks of weather disruptions.

Making the most of the conditions:
-Mark got back into the sky and picked up right where he left off, showing some very tidy turns and solid straight and level flying.
-David got stuck into circuits and made good progress.
-William joined us again for his second lesson and did a fantastic job with slow flight and an introduction to circuits.
-Kylah pushed on with steep turns and capped it off with some excellent landings.

Great flying all round and awesome to see so much activity back at the club. Looking forward to more weekends like this ๐Ÿ‘
