Its with great disappointment that we have to share we are no longer going to be competing at this weekends Superstock Stampeed in Nelson.
After routine maintenance checks this week we found a mechanical issue that could not be resolved in the short time frame we had to get on the ferry.
We are gutted after building positive momentum leading up to the event, but thankful we picked up the issue before traveling down and finding it during heat one and letting everyone down.

All the best to all the competitors in Nelson!

Oceanview Speedway 28th Feb Recap 🏁

Not much to report this week. We had a club meeting which was a nice breath of fresh air amongst the chaos to not have to travel. It’s always good fun to get on the home track and race alongside friends. This weekend however we will make the trip to Nelson for the PTS Superstock Stampede Shootout. We’re hoping this is a good learning experience to get amongst some different drivers on a track we’re not so used to. Let’s hope the ferry’s are better than our last trip to top of the south for NZ champs🤞

Robertson Prestige International Speedway 248 Global Superstock Challenge 21st Feb Recap 🏁

It was great to get back to repping the V in red and white after our little stint in green. We started the night off with a bang picking up the checkered flag in qualifying which we thought would set us up well for the rest of the night but it turns out everyone made it through anyway. The car ran super well for the rest of the night and we were happy with how we were progressing. Heat 3 we started P12 and managed to make it to P4 where we were sitting quite comfortably until a bolt came loose that resulted in a DNF for us which was disappointing but a lesson nevertheless. Our biggest goal is always to learn as much as we can and as much as we learn from the wins we learn just as much from a loss. We’ll know better next time!

World 240’s 23rd & 30th Jan + Superstock Teams Champs 7th & 8th Feb Recap 🏁

It was a shame to have to make two trips up for 240’s but at least it was worth it! After picking up a checked flag and coming in 4th overall for tier two at the Word 240’s, we were on a roll coming into the Superstock Teams Champs as a Manawatu Mustang! We came into this unsure of what to expect but wow what an experience! As much as we would have loved to get a drive, we were more than happy to fill the spot from the infield. It was an experience of its own to get on the track infront of a crowd that big! Unfortunately the boys didn’t quite make it through to the finals which meant we got to have a good crack in the consolations. The conditions of race one were far from ideal however we made the most of what we had after getting caught up in the mess of turn three… race two however went our way! Because there were no set grids we got in there early and started P1. Following a messy race that ended up being called early, we managed to pick up another checked flag! It’s such a crazy feeling to be able to do that in front of a crowd like that! We’re looking forward to what the future brings teams wise but for now we’re stoked to get back to repping the V!

Today we suit up for the biggest show on dirt the Palmerston North teams champs. After watching this event from the stands for 15+ years it is surreal that we will be part of the show tonight.
We will be representing the Manawatu Mustangs as a call in to help them out.
Everyone knows I have alot of pride for my home club and the Wanganui Warriors, however we have to take these opportunities to better ourselves!
There's a few key people that have supported my obsession for Superstock racing and I thank them all for pushing and backing me.

All the best to the Warriors, but this weekend we are 100% committed to the Mustangs and I'm pumped to give them everything I have!

It is always a hard task for the selection team to pick six drivers from a talented class, however we are proud to see Matt Buckley selected to join the Manawatu Mustangs on loan for this weekends ENZED Superstock Teams Championship in Palmerston North!

Although a proud V man Matt couldn’t pass up the opportunity to race on the biggest stage. We wish Matt the best of luck and look forward to seeing how we goes!

Wellington Speedway 17th & 18th Jan Recap 🏁

Well that was not the weekend we wanted for us! However it was the weekend we wanted for our fellow club member… massive congratulations to Brad Uhlenberg who managed to secure the 1NZ, well deserved! We also want to congratulate all the other V cars that made it into the finals, awesome to see so many of them in there. As well as Ethan Rees and William Humphries who are on the NZ podium! We also want to say a big thanks to The Dirt Den who sold some merch for us over the weekend!

Race 1 did not go our way. It was a really tricky track to navigate especially as a track we’re not very familiar with which unfortunately didn’t set us up very well for the rest of the night. As the night progressed we’d found our line and had a bit more fight in us which managed to gain us some decent ground in race 2 & 3. This placed us 11th in our group which meant we had only just missed the repechage. Luckily for us, changes made in the morning meant we would start 12th in the repechage. Matt got a pretty good start making it to 6th but got squeezed into the first corner of lap 2 and with nowhere to go the wall decided he needed a new front bumper (or half of it at least). This was very disappointing for us as it meant we couldn’t continue with the repechage or any of the other races but we still enjoyed watching our fellow club mates and friends throughout the night and are looking forward to racing this weekend in Rotorua!
