We are now closing off the year 4 & 5 grades for registration.

The last day to register for year 3 and 6 is Monday 15 June but may close earlier as we are nearly at capacity.

We are going ahead today and will make a call if we need too closer to the little kids rounds.
Make sure the kids have a change of clothes or something warm to get into after their games!

There is a BBQ today but no coffee cart

Saturday saw 40 of our umpires sit a test to see how much they have learnt from their classes that they have been attending.

💫Congratulations 💫 to the 30 from 40 candidates, who passed with a % of between 80 and 100%. 2 candidates scored 100%. How great is that? Well done. Out of the 10 that didn't meet the 80%, 6 missed that mark by 2-4%. So good results everyone.
I have notified those who didn't pass. So if you haven't received a text by Monday (today)10pm, then guess what? You've passed!! Well done.
For those who weren't able to sit the test due to whatever reasons, you can catch up with me on the 6th of June.
Those umpires who haven't made an effort by the 7th of June, we will be in touch with your school to follow up.

Hutt Valley Netball Umpires Association are bringing the community umpire workshops back.

Kicking off on Wednesday 27 May.

If you are new, or have been umpiring for a while and wanting to clarify rulings or gain a better understanding of rules/ application then head along!

No need to register, just turn up.

Hi all,

Following on from our post the other day a little later then planned, the committee have just been at the courts assessing courts 1 and 2.

I have attached some photos of the condition of them.

Although the plates now have grip tape on them, we are concerned about the holes around the plates.

We are going to go ahead tomorrow.

However if you are playing on these courts and do have any concerns about this please email me at [email protected] to discuss.

Hi all,

Due to the current condition of courts 1 & 2 we are going to make a call at 5pm on Friday night whether or not these games can go ahead.

The safety of of kids is our highest priority.

We realize this may disappoint most of our teams but we are coming up with a solution in the background.

We will keep you informed as progress is made.

🏐 UMPIRING SESSIONS 2026 🏐

It was great to see the number of umpires who attended for their first class on Saturday. We’re impressed with your attendance and are glad that you will be helping to uplift the standard of umpiring at Upper Hutt so that our kids have a better game.

The only reason not to attend, is if you hold an umpiring badge (whether it be past or present).

Those schools who didn’t attend the different grades, may have an umpire who is doing several grades. Nothing wrong with that, but we need to know so your attendance is noted after your first round.

Those absent schools will receive a reminder this week.

Thanks for helping with the betterment of netball in mind for our children

Welcome to the 2026 netball season!

First game of the season this weekend 2nd May 2026.

If you have not read the code of conduct for parents, spectators and players please go and do so before this weekend. This can be found in our handbook.

Umpires need to turn up to the office 45 mins before your game to sign in for our compulsory umpires course which runs for 4 weeks and is 30 minutes long.

There will be a BBQ this week so bring cash to help support them

🚗 Parking Matters🚗

Parking has been an ongoing issue in the area, and how we park directly affects our ability to continue using the school courts so your cooperation with this is highly appreciated. You may be ticketed or towed this year if you do not cooperate.

⚠️ Please Do Not Park:

❌ On the footpath

❌ On berms

❌ Within 1 metre of a vehicle entrance

❌ In loading zones, or in limited time parking (e.g. in front of the Dairy opposite the courts)

These rules help ensure safety, visibility, and access for residents and emergency services.

Please also take care to cross roads safely, especially if you are with young children.
