As the offseason slowly rolls along, I finally started getting things sorted.

I pulled the engine out a few week ago. Couple of small oil leaks to deal with and a bit of a check over and it will be ready to go again.

Today, I finished stripping and cleaning everything else. Everything is checked over and it’s time to start putting everything back together again.

Not long to go until race season so there may be a few late nights in the garage.

Sorry for the lack of updates, it’s been rather busy of late with 8 race meetings over the last 7 weekends.

The last few weekends we have had the South Island Champs at Aotea Electric Riverside Speedway. It was good to get down there again, the track was awesome and it was a good meeting.

We raced at Custom Signs Beachlands Speedway on the 14th of March. This was the Otago Sprintcar champs which I managed to win. My first few seasons racing were at Beachlands and it was good to get back there again. Will hopefully get a few more meetings there next season.

Finally, we raced at Powderworx Central Motor Speedway last night for the Daryl Ainsley memorial. The track was fast with a reasonable number of cars. Finished up 4th in the feature.

Last weekend we raced the final round of War Of The Wings Sprintcars.

Meeting went ok, with some good racing and a straight car at the end of the night.

Overall we ended up 10th in the series after missing a couple of rounds and also picked up the ‘Hard Yards’ award as well.

We still have a couple of meetings left for the season but things are slowly winding down.

All of the teams put in 'The Hard Yards' but theres one guy who really does go above and beyond in supporting the War of the Wings. his hometown track hasnt hosted a round of the series for several years, but Matt Anderson is a real trooper...Where the WoW goes- he goes

Another race weekend, this time at Ellesmere Motor Racing Club.

Drew marble 2 for the time trial and had a pretty average time.

Ended up with grids 9 and 1.

For the first heat, made some good ground and was sitting aroudd 6th working on 5th until I ran over something in the track and puntured the Right Rear tyre.

Managed to pick up the heat win from grid 1 in my second heat.

Started the feature from grid 10, got rolling and settled into 9th and was moving forward until a yellow light with a few cars tangeld up. This turned into a red light and ended the meeting with a medical event in the crowd.

We have now made it into the top 12 for the War Of The Wings Sprintcars and are getting preped for the last round this weekend.

Another busy week in the shed and we are sorted again.

We raced Nelson Speedway Association Inc. last Saturday. Had a good meeting with a reasonable time trial, good heats to qualify 4th.

Got stuck high the first lap and ended up in 7th. Held my own and was starting to make up ground the last few laps but finished there.

Special thanks to Kevin Freeman for the accomodation and place to clean and prep on the Saturday.

After a busy week changing tyres, full service and oil change with Penrite Oil NZ oil we are ready for an early start tomorrow morning to head up to Ellesmere Motor Racing Club.

Sorry for the lack of updates, it’s been a busy week.

After Ruapuna Speedway last week we had a busy week turning the car around. Caught caught up but the feature there and unfortunately didn’t finish.

Tonight we raced at eastern states speedway for the next round of the War Of The Wings Sprintcars

Time trial was a bit average but we got two laps in.

Heat one had a grid 8 and finished 7th.

Second heat had grid 1 and won that heat.

Just missed the dash due to my slower time trial lap.

Started the feature 7th and had a good run to finish 7th.

Onto Nelson Speedway Association Inc. tomorrow.

We are all sorted and ready for tomorrows racing at Ruapuna Speedway for the next round of the War Of The Wings Sprintcars.

After the NZ title, we found a broken part inside the engine. After a bit of work and checking through everything, luckily nothing else was hurt.

After a bit a thrash, we had the engine back in the car on Thursday morning two weeks ago, just before the meeting was postponed.

This did give is another couple of weeks to check over everything again though.

Hopefully the weather has now sorted itself out as we have a busy month or so of racing ahead of us.

Our NZ Title post meeting summary.

The weekend started off good, with fastest time in my group and the 8th fastest time overall.

This seeded me into group 5 with Caleb Montgomery, Caleb Baughan, Matt Leversedge and Joel Myers.

First heat we had a grid 3 and finished 6th. Second heat we had grid 2 to finish 3rd. Third heat was grid 8 and finished 8th.

Track was fast with little passing on the first night.

We were 16th after the first night.

Night 2 we had another grid 8 and finished 8th again.

For our final heat, I was off grid 5. Was comfortable in 4th with a lap or two to go before the engine made a loud pop and shut off.

Unsure what is broken at the moment and there are no holes in anything. Hopefully it’s something simple but that was the end of our title run.

Will go through everything when I get back home and hopefully get things sorted for the rest of the season.

An average night for our first night of the NZ title.

We have had a 6th from grid 3. A 3rd from grid 2 and an 8th from grid 8.

Currently we are 16th on points with a couple of mid grids tomorrow.

Car is in one bit and we are mostly sorted for tomorrow night.
