My two granddaughters today at the Tongariro School Academic Awards, among many awards between them they also achievef, Top student of her year and the other named Dux, so incredibly proud of them.

We’ll , thee fish have been moving for a few weeks now, some rivers have seen a lot of fish running through them, the Hine as an example, but with this new rain should see bigger numbers running in the Tongariro.
I’m thinking glow bugs.

Hello to all, been awhile, have had a hectic few months, moved house, had another hand operation, the list goes on and on.
Im up and running again with clients returning, thank you for your patience, truly appreciated.
Have been out and about scouting the Tongariro, no shortage of fish, both browns and rainbows, this is one from a fish on Monday.

Im using mostly Euro gear and a dry dropper set up for the browns.
Cooper beaded pheasant tails types and the reliable hare and cooper are my choice for results.
Tight lines and stay safe out there.

There should be smiles on all off the anglers faces fishing the Central Plateau river over the last few weeks, the numbers and quality of fish has been the absolute best for 5 or 6 years, if you are looking and not getting results in the rivers you are fishing, get yourself a local guide, The flies that have worked the best this week in the Tongariro have been the old and not new, Hare and Cooprs and Prince nymphs, size 16, only a few on eggs.
I m still banging on about river etiquette, I have no idea where the older angler fraternity think they can walk into any section of pool that they want to, and get offended when changed about thier total and un acceptable arrogance, so proud of the the young brigade keeping this beautiful sport and traditions alive.
